Arc Raiders

Game seems like its turned into full on PvP.. cant run a single raid without being shot at or killed. I know this is a PvPvE game but dieing every single game will likely get boring pretty quickly.

Will have to change my play style and start sneaking round every where.

It finally happened ! After 3 days of nobody shooting me, some Danish fellow called Blue , hiding in a bush ambushed me as I ran past. Unfortunately for them, they failed to kill me with their opening salvo and I turned around and melted their faces with my pvp Stitcher. Once again, the fellow was absolutely laden with goods, including some surveyor vaults which is nice :)

Why people who are covered in good loot opt to start a fight I will never know !

That person who shot me just now was the first person who has shot at me in 3 days, the other 3 people I ran into in the round didnt engage and the 5 of us on Stella Montis earlier all grouped up to run around (we were all solo) , I still am none the wiser as to what I am doing that means I go hours and hours without people shooting at me !

Yeah, the PvP is now uncontrolled. Game has become a battle royale, which isn't what I signed up for. So, game uninstalled and will move on to other things. But I will keep tabs on the game's future development ; still think it has huge potential but they need to add a reputation / bounty system to keep griefing in check. Also, fixing desync should be a top priority.

Just follow me around, you'll barely get shot at :D

Wrapped up another round just then, ran into 2 people, neither shot at me, went on with business and extracted without so much as a crossed word

Well the new zone is a nightmare solo, went in 4 times kitted out and got gibbed, only time I extracted was a free run and I managed 2 kills too (one of them crying why are you killing, it's solo). Am sure it will settle down later. Didn't have much luck in the night zone either, so quit for the evening.

Is that not a bit of an over-reaction? It's a new zone so I imagine most people are going there now, which means people who want to kill people will go there too. Am sure it will settle into how it was after a bit. Always the other zones to play.

Perhaps it'll go the other way and you'll be gunned down alongside me !

Here's an example of what I had to contend with today : was on the Spaceport map waiting to extract at the elevator just to the south of the launch tower. I was crouched down in cover when a guy runs up and claims he's friendly. He takes cover a few feet away, and I keep my eyes on him but he's not doing anything suspicious. Then another two players appear ( French btw ! ), seemingly together ... both stand out in the open just a few feet away from the elevator, when suddenly one of them guns the other one down and then turns his gun at the player near me and starts emptying his magazine into him. I shoot at the perpetrator and kill him taking a few shots in the process. I walk over to the downed victim and begin to rez him with a defib when I'm shot in the back of the head by the player I saved.

And the day before I was spawned in ( as part of duo ) and attacked by two groups within 20 secs of spawning in on the periphery of the map. Seven of us in total all within 50 metres of each other. I was the only one that survived.

No. It's how it has been for most of my games the last 2-3 days on any map. Full on PvP every match even in solo queues. Most of the time it's by players pretending to be friendly or extraction camping. Minimal or zero comms. The new zone is clearly designed for PvP ; it's quite a small, compact indoor environment with some verticality in the map design.

I'm thinking that due to player spike things will settle down? Potentially more new players too? Fine balance this game.

I think it's more the case that a critical mass of players have finished the quests, project etc and all they have left to do is PvP until the window opens for completing the expedition. May see some of them move on to play CoD tonight / this weekend and Tarkov next week. Time will tell.

I would say its more likely because most people have upgraded workbenches and got key quests done they have less need to extract with items. We also dont know if there has been any matching system tweaks so I would give it a few days before some reflection.

I'm part of the pacifist matching system :)

Certainly feels like there has been some matchmaking tweaks. Majority of the players who have shot at me have been using a Venator tier 4 ; none of the free loadout crew.

That's interesting. I will have to monitor what weapons as I have not been paying much attention to that. Generally though its third party jumps if I get nuked.

Actually when the new game mode thing came out where you raise the three flags we encountered a double team working together, was surprised we won that encounter and extracted. It took a wee while to realise how many we had downed as it was a rather long period of fighting but the proximity talking made sense in hindsight.

I wonder if a degradation/durability mechanic for items in your stash could come into play, so that you had to use them or lose them within a certain time frame. It would help with using up items in the stash, freeing up some space in there, but also force players to still need to grab components rather than just hoarding their PvP spoils and or only high-end items. Not sure it would cure too much, but possibly a nice addition.

Another round done, 3 people encountered, I said hello to the first guy, complained to him that the rain was soaking through my cowboy hat, wished him happy hunting and went on my way, then met two people at the extraction and a few emotes later we all extracted. Life in the belt is good ! :D

Another round done, heres a new one, guy at the extraction point asked me if he could shoot me a couple of times as he has a feat to damage players with a shotgun, I say sure thing and he takes some shots, I shield back up and heal so he can get some more and then we extract :D
