Arc Raiders

It's amazing how you can get wasted by the Arc drones if you're caught out. A couple of times I've been wiped out because the flamer or exploding drones suddenly appear out of nowhere and i can't reload fast enough, especially if on a free loadout.

In some ways I'd love a PVE mode just so I can try to take on the big Arcs without fear of getting sniped when salvaging them.

I actually find that its the fear of other players attacking you that makes fighting the larger arcs more exciting, once you know the weaknesses of the various arcs and how to beat them, they become much easier to kill and at that point the only thing thats a worry is the unpredictability of how any passing players will behave, whilst you are fighting the arcs. In that respect I can sort of understand why the devs said that during development pure pve ended up being dull

I got wasted by flamers last night cheeky buggers rolled up behind me as I was looting some cupboards :D

I'll give random groups a go, either 2v2 or 3v3. Matchmaking is great, generally you're matched to servers filled with similar teams. So far I think I've only seen some teams of 2 on a mostly solo server, they maybe teamed up on the server. I'm usually in the game within 60 secs from pressing ready, not had an issues.

My last game I played online as a team was L4D so I should give Arc Raiders a chance I guess.

Yeah item management is time consuming, I spend nearly all my money on more slots, my next slot upgrade would cost 200000, but isn't really much to buy from the traders anyway. TBH playing solo and my death rate I don't wanna play with anything epic unless I was on a good team.

One thing I need is trap blueprints, so I can cover my back while I loot when playing solo.

The graphics are good but not quite on the same level as The Division, it gets the job done. After googling it doesn't seem like HDR is working or much good, I play with it anyway but there is no brightness slider in the settings that I can see.

I really hope we get more maps and content without future DLC cost.

One of the things I do find a drag is having to re-build a loadout after a wipeout. I can take 15 minutes or so, depending on what resources I have.
I'd love to be able to save a loadout and have it craft it from my resources, if I have enough.
Or have a 'quick recycle' which can recycle all the resources that are safe to recycle in one go, so I don't have to recycle items or stacks one by one.

agree with all of the above. I only started earlier today and it's great but I can see (as feared) inventory management being a chore.

still I have enjoyed the gameplay. been downed twice so far both by drones, the 2nd time was during extraction however so I was still able to crawl into the lift and get out.
seen a few players. none have been hostile yet thankfully.
last go proper got the adrenaline going. I found a corpse literally full of rare loot and level 4 weapons. I could not take everything but I took what I could carry. getting out then was really scary and I was very happy to get out with my stuff. only snag now is I am too scared to use the rare stuff in case I lose it :D

I need to upgrade my benches as well as find a collar for my chicken (there is a sentence I didn't think I would ever say!! :D )

Actually a very good idea, hadn't really thought about it but you're right it is a drag.

This is one of the reason si have not picked it up yet as i found it slow during server slam but i put it down to my noobiness and only having a short bit of time to sample the game.
Is it really this tedious?

Not tedious as such. Slightly annoying if it happens too frequently. If I do get wiped I tend to get a free loadout for few games which gets you back into the action straight away.

damn. I can't find a sodding dog collar for my chicken! I have ransacked some apartments but no joy. I guess it's just RNG not being kind to me. oh well as least I am getting metal bits and chemicals etc whilst looking I guess.

The apartment buildings on Dam are usually chock full of dog collars, sometimes I find 3 or 4 at a time in a run through those. I have found so many dog collars in those apartments that I am convinced that all the tenants are BDSM freaks

Melee is insane for the rolly polly basstids. Doesn't matter if they explode, as long as you do the killing blow, they don't damage you.

The fire ones too. Couple of swipes, dodge roll the fire, crack on.

Take a free load out and try it, absolutely changed my attitude towards indoor looting.

I can hit them when shooting, but every melee I've attempted has been a swing and a miss.

I need to practice it on moving targets but it's expensive to do in a raid, and I don't remember seeing anything useful to practice on in the range.
I'll have to check again.

Tooltips on your loot have little tips on them. They'll tell you what category of building to loot, and those same little icons are on the maps too. It's quite intuitive once you suss it out.

50 hours played, 0 rusted gears found :(
Next to the Generator Hall extract on Dam are 2 buses (its the 2 next to each other on the east side of the extract, ignore the other 2). Open the rear compartment on both and the luggage compartments along the side and you'll find some, got all mine plus motors from there.
