Arc Raiders

Yeah what???????
it's not a forced wipe like tarkov - it's optional. there's a window during which players can choose to wipe their character and restart/reset - but there's certain 'things' the player needs to have completed first. it's a bit more like 'prestige' mode in the cod (or was it bf?) games

at least i think that's what it is :p

Anyone had items returned due to unfair play? Just had an in-game email regarding this with multiple items attached.

Yup, if someone gets caught cheating you get your stuff back if they killed you :)
I am more interested in what happens to the cheater to be honest. they are the bain of multiplayer games on pc. I would hope they get a no 2nd chance account ban from online if they are certain they were cheating. too many games either turn a blind eye or give them a pointless slap on the wrist .

back when I used to play PvP games a fair bit too many decent games were ruined. COD 5 world at war and BF3/4 spring to mind.

I'm guessing they get the chop, Embark have always maintained that they will take a firm stance with cheaters

-- "This is thanks to a complex "Abnormal Match Compensation" anti-cheat system, Embark Studios has put in place for ARC Raiders. If it detects a player was killed by a cheater who is using third-party tools such as aimbots or wall hacks during a match, it will return the gear the downed player carried in that battle through in-game mail.
As for the cheater, they will be punished including having their account banned so they will be forced to repurchase the game and lose all their gear in the process." --

Oh no that must have been terrible.
not sure if being serious or sarcastic however I play for enjoyment not to have toss pots chanting racist / fascist chants and screaming down the mic. I could mute them perhaps but would rather just not game with or against them . much of it wasn't even aimed at me.

I think I've referenced it before in this thread but it's how Embark also handles cheaters in The Finals as well - particularly in the ranked mode.

If you're in a lobby and someone has been found to be cheating, anyone in that lobby gets all of their lost ranked points returned to them. It's a really 'nice' way of having it handled - rather than other games (looking at COD Ranked here) where if you lose to a cheater you end up seeing them hitting top 500 a few days later and invited to the next COD event.

Mute, block, report, move on.

You can't control anyone else's behaviour, but you don't need to let their behaviour control you.

If you mute them then they're just screaming into the void.

That way you can move on and continue doing something you enjoy. You'll also get the opportunity to meet many more people who make the experience a lot of fun.
