Arc Raiders

Giving the game a rest for a bit, playing solo has probably run it's course for me, maybe I'll try going in a random group at some point, used to do that in L4D, with mixed results.

Steam says I've played 111 hours but that's not true because the game would sometimes not shutdown properly and still be running overnight, it's probably more like total 70 hours.

I prefer going into a map with some goal/quest but that's annoying due to lack of quest markers and in game marker doesn't popup until you are right there. Not a fan of that maze of corridors map - but it does distil the game into: oh I died.. or maybe not!

Early days for the game but I'm wondering if the novelty is already waning looking at player online count. The game was bundled with my GPU and although I keep hearing about it (youtube) I doubt I would have otherwise bought it.

Concurrent players looks consistent to me.

I can definitely see the novelty wearing off for many people as they complete everything there is to do. But that's normal for most games.

I agree with you regarding going into a map with purpose. I've still got quests to do and my stash to fill for the reset, so that gives me something to aim for.

Going in as a group gives me other player's goals as a purpose as well.
In fact just being a part of a group changes the game imo. It's easier to make other players your goal, whether that's as a healing team of recorder playing friendlies, or as a duo/trio of death.

I've also got achievements I'm aiming for, and there's the hidden bunker scenario to do, and the matriarch and queen that I haven't managed to down yet.

I do wish there was more depth to the PVE side of things. That's what I really miss coming from the Division 2, and while I enjoy the story side of arc raiders, I do find it quite barebones.

I'm not sure how long I'll stick with it, but I'm 150+ hrs in and still enjoying it at the moment. Stella Montis has become enjoyable now that I've got realistic expectations for it going in. I never hated it, but I was so lost at first it was hard to enjoy it.

I think if I stopped playing tomorrow I would say I've already had my money's worth.

Yup, theres been a slight drop in concurrent numbers this week, as you'd expect of most games after a month, but Arc Raiders is still WAY WAY out in the lead over any other title in its genre, its still the dominant game in its genre, cant ask for more than that :)

If you've got a couple of Wolfpacks they will very quickly sort out a rocketeer.

In fact I think they will very quickly sort out anything.

Three wolfpacks against a bombardier and its escorts = lots of salvage.

As I found out earlier now I found the final rocketeer core to upgrade my explosives bench so I can craft Wolfpacks, having found the blue-print some time ago. :D

Huh... I've only every picked up destroyed ones. I don't even bother most of the time. I'll have to start checking again. I need a couple!

These are way more likely in the electrified husks event. I found my last rocketeer core that way. You can also find them in the downed couriers, which have random cores in them.

I hope they give out different missions to people who have reset. Just having something new to do would be a big bonus iMO. There's going to be the snow map too. All you guys who have 100+ hours already are the bleeding edge remember, lots of people will have played far less

Dunno about bleeding edge. I'm mostly just bleeding. Mostly.

You can always tell when the kids start coming on, the game goes from relatively chill, to instant kill on sight. I take great pleasure in absolutely destroying the little *****.

All quests completed, rooster fully upgraded, a few workbenches done, think I've got two to go.

Also found a few good blueprints, like the Wolfpack.

88 hours played. Still enjoying it.

I am enjoying it sort of.. but given I currently only solo it I keep finding myself getting distracted. I end up so full of junk I have to extract before I have done anything !.

Set yourself goals. I even had lists of what I needed on my second monitor, so I knew exactly what to get.

Which of course meant ignoring it and going after the big shiny thing anyway.

Played around 70 hours. Everything completed apart from a few quests. I cant honestly bother to complete the last few, mainly because the rewards are of no use to me!

Looking forward to the re-set.

Enjoy it. Fleshing out your stash is fine as you get used to the game. It's when your stash it full and you have an insatiable need to loot that you have a problem :)

As Diddums said, it's good to sometimes stay focused on a specific quest or objective otherwise you'll never make progress. It's especially important for your benches because while you have the partial loot for upgrades they all take up room in your stash which becomes a problem. If you ever need help with anything I'm always happy to help.

Timmy sums this up really well lol https://www.youtube.com/clip/UgkxbehcQ2xws8r-DbFlmEbX7_JH7Mj0BZD4

Yeah, was glad to finally get the quests done on it. Did my head in, just constant paranoia.
