I still like Buried City for harvest trials, there does seem to be less in the Galleria, but once you grab the stuff in there and Marano Park, you can run a nice circular route too, with plenty of Mullien and some Agave, I usually get 12K+

I got three Aphelion BP drops today in Stella, having never got one before - two of them in day raids in suitcases. Now to decide on whether to keep my only Martiarch reactor for the Trophy cabinet project, or build an Aphelion and try to farm more.

Drop rates on reactors from the legs / armour plates are supposed to have been lowered to make getting them without killing the queen/matriarch more difficult. I haven't noticed it myself, so I don't know how much the drop chance has been lowered by, but it's worth considering if the project is your priority.
Then again, they have said the project will be around for a while.

Id keep it for the project personally, but that's purely because I don't rate the Aphelion and nothing to do with the above.

I got one from there today, dont really go on this map much but I also got the healing spray BP which is one of the reasons I went there.

wow that is one of the best trailers for a game I have ever seen.
to be fair if that was their "aim" they didn't fall too far from it.

if anything the ark have a little more presence in the trailer , a little bigger and more imposing (esp the surveyor) but over all I think they got close to the mark.

I've been hoarding queen reactors and matriarch cores, knew they would come in handy at some point I've got 10 of each and I sold ~5 a couple of weeks ago as well as crafting 2-3 equalizers, aphelions and jupiters!

Really struggling on inventory space with the trophy display project as I've been farming the bigger arc before getting rusted bolts! I should probably cut down on the 90+ level 4 guns I have

I think there is a comment in the YT comments that says this trailer was the first wave and what we see when we raid with all the baron husks etc is the leftover from all of that in the trailer. Make it all the more amazing.

Ok the 3 queen reactors was much easier than I had thought, did it in two rounds.

Brought a hull cracker and put over 100 rounds in to it* in the second run, it was all looted so I moaned and people dropped some for me.

That being said I revived three people in that same round and a load of them followed me to a hatch as I had a key.

Was a very satisfying round actually all those people working togther.

Anyway, just need the Arc Synthetic Resin which I am sure will be easy, I already got 5 or so then that is that done.

*which also completed the damage ground based arc at just under 8k.

Yeah I decided I'll use them for the project.

I'm going to complete all steps except for the Geiger Counters & Exodus Modules in Stage 5, and complete those after the Expedition (assuming this project is still running, and does not wipe with your raider, there is no indication that it does).
Geiger Counters & Exodus Modules are easy enough to get even with a new raider, so my new raider should have quick access to an Aphelion, a couple of Snap hooks, a Jupiter + Energy clips & 300,000 credits for quick stash upgrades.

given I am going on the expedition this time I don't think I am going to start the new display case thingie. it's a strange situation to have content that I need to hold off using.... but those blue prints are too good and as it is only once per account I don't want to only have the. for a few weeks .

I don't think I'm gonna bother doing it at all.

I don't think the 5 skill points is worth the loss of all those blueprints.

More so now that I didn't reset the first time, I've got so many blueprints.

I cannot grab anything legendary and the best thing I can craft is the hullcracker but I just buy that from the trader.

I’ve only ever solo’d it with randoms all joining in so only banged at it with an anvil or renegade and a few nades.

Edit: i should add that I predominantly play NA servers as English is the primary lamguage on there so it’s easier to chat with other solos. Trying to farm the Queen or matriarch on EU servers is gash as it’s a mess of broken English and guttural grunts.

Yeah it's clever how they used V1 of the game for all that stuff. Good luck to them I say. I think a lot of them were frustrated for years working for EA making endless battlefields.

I tend to hear lots of french guys for some reason on the open mic, but generally the rest of makeup seem to speak reasonable english.

Are you in friendly lobbies?

If you are, join a map with the queen on it and head towards her. If you're lucky you'll find a group already gathering firing at it.

Join them and start pouring your ammo into her.

If you don't have a heavy weapons then wait, save your ammo for weak spots that get exposed by others.

If you have fire or explosives then toss them all, you can help with dmg even if she is armoured.

You can do this with a free loadout. No need to overthink it.

If you don't find a lobby where people are fighting her, either wait a bit until you hear her making noise once an attack starts, or extract and try again until you mark it off your list!

As for weapons, the Hullcracker is ideal and will make short work of the armour and the exposed areas that the falling armour reveals. No need for legendaries. Just make sure you take enough ammo if your intention is to down her.

The most difficult part of doing it is managing her attention. If she's solely focussed on you it's a very difficult fight, so while it's possible to do it solo it's rough.



Outside of the Hullcracker you have available to you, heavy ammo weapons and explosives/fire will do dmg to her while she has all her armour plating intact. You can buy a deadline and plant that on her if you're feeling adventurous, and that does a ton of dmg.

Any other ammo, even light, will do dmg to exposed weak spots like the core, or the yellow spots on the underside sides of her legs.


If you aren't aiming to kill her, then you can blast away at one leg and eventually you'll get the armour there to pop off. Once it's safe you can loot the fallen section to potentially get a core. Do this for all the legs.

The hardest part by far about the queen and matriarch is managing agro. If you're solo it's an uphill struggle, but if there are other people around it becomes easy as long as you have cover. The problem then is the race for loot and ensuring you get to the fallen armour bits before anyone else. Or for more PvP oriented lobbies, not getting shot by other raiders.

To reiterate what I said from my original post, you absolutely can fight the queen with a free kit if you choose to. You just need to target the right areas and stay in cover (harvester). It's quite a bit harder with the matriarch because of all the adds and lack of harvester for convenient cover, but a free kit can still work there as well. Most important of all if you are running a free kit (and even if you're not honestly), use other people.

I swear the Emperors(?) are getting closer on Blue Gate.

I've seen them stalking around behind the mountains a few times, but unless it's my imagination they are getting bigger and bigger.

Embark have said we're in an escalation phase and can expect the arc to become more active, so perhaps the looming giant is a sign of things to come. The quests certainly suggest it.
