Arc Raiders

I guess for those that reset the first time it would be a bit of a kick in the teeth.
I guess but then that argument is the same for any "cheap" points I guess .
on another note .. what do people think of the tempest assault rifle ? I have only ever had one once and I got killed before I got chance to really try it. I just got that BP and a Wolfpack from a single night raid on dam battle grounds (in one of the residential blocks). I have not unlocked it because I am going on expedition in a few weeks so will get a mate to mule them both for me. those and a couple of augment BPs will give me a nice start for my new tenant in my digs I think.

Joined in killing the queen today at Spaceport, I've always used it as an opportunity to get to the good loot spots whilst the rest of the lobby concentrate on her, but today I loaded up my hullcracker and joined in.

Ended up with the achievement "A Tale For the Ages" which surprisingly on 4.6% of players have.

Been avoiding Stella Montis but have a quest to do there and need to find some BPs too, think I'll do free load out as I need to learn the layout, whenever I've gone there I've always ended up in a dead end!

I guess you have to be the player that lands the fatal shot, and with multiple players raining down on the Queen, you need a bit of luck, so that's a pretty exclusive club you are in :)

Not a bad idea to use free load outs for a while on Stella, it took my aging brain a while, and I still sometimes wonder where the hell I am when I spawn in.

i know where i am in the main areas of that map but it's the maze getting between those areas that gets me

Done collecting the spotter relays last night and also solo killed the bombardier for my quest last night, also done the trench tower one as well, pretty productive id say. however the next part is getting shredder gyros and a few more arc performance steel will be interesting. Oh and the Stella Montis quest as well.

Didn't think this was bad going.

That's not a bad shout about Stella, as I went in there quite late last night and the timer only had 17mins left, was only a few players about and not much time to explore, had fun with a shredder on the way back to extract and the anvil made it fairly easy to dispatch.

Went straight back in and started with a full timer and full of raiders being very vocal and shouting "Don't shoot". So I cracked in and started to work the layout then I just kept hearing raider flares going off, then I bumped into a single player just killing looters. Don't know how I managed to get away but I did. Mad map that, claustrophobic and intense, full of blind corners/dead ends. Most definitely designed for the pvp side of the game. Going to be tough trying to get quests done there for sure, free load out for the win.

Didn't think this was bad going.

*snip*

That's a mad score, I've just got under 3k with hornets in this weeks trial. Pair of them tag teamed me last night and I lost everything, I usually seek cover but I was out in the open and had 2 mins to get to the raider hatch, it was tight, ran out of stamina, game over. Went back in and went full Dirty harry on them, they really are little *****!

There is a trick to fighting Hornets.

Most important is to hold your nerve and don't panic.

Let them approach you, as they are spooling up their weapon to fire, they will rear back a bit and pitch upwards exposing the rear thrusters.

At the moment fire and take off one of the rear thrusters, this will also about 95%+ make them miss their shot.

Rinse and repeat with the other thruster.

Admittedly it's a lot more difficult against two at a time but you can still do it.

If you mess up at any point, use a dodge roll when they fire, the projectile actually moves pretty slowly and it's easy to dodge.

It's all about holding your nerves though, timing your shots and managing your stamina by not running about panicking etc.

In a lot of ways despite how much weaker they are I sometimes consider wasps more of a threat because their weapon is much harder to dodge.

Randomly attacked last night whilst I wad laughing at team Mate running from a shredder. Only the 2nd time I've been in any pvp. Fired back but by then I was dead. Biggest issue is no pvp practice with this game with the fear of being put in sweaty lobbies.

...the fear of being put in sweaty lobbies.

You should not worry about this outside of solo. My experience has been especially in trio's that you're just going to get some team engage with you and you cant really avoid the lobby like that as there are too many variables (time of day, map type).

The consensus I read recently was if you go about 8 games without hitting another raider your back to a carebear lobby. As you say though you should get some encounters under your belt for experience and how to disengage/reset fights to help you.

Don't let it bother you, I've found that it takes 3 or 4 games of not attacking and back to friendly lobbies, the problem with PVE only is that you will soon run out of things to do so mixing it up with a bit of sweaty action keeps the game's longitivity up as you will naturally lose your stash and have more purpose replenishing your gear

Thank you, that's good advice. Always struggled with the dodge roll for some reason, normally I'm dead (in PvP circumstances) before I remember to do that.

I've always aimed for the rear rotors, tend to aim for them as they drift past from a side angle, but head on they're almost impossible to hit. Didn't realise they tilted back before shooting, tried it out earlier and it worked a treat, nice one!

Totally smashed it yesterday and completed the display trophy project and also done all the quests ! Actually feels like I have completed the game bar from a few blue prints. Might do the expedition this time.

the display trophy is an odd one. you are kind of encouraged NOT to do it as it doesn't reset after expedition but also they missed a trick by not actually giving us a display cabinet to allow is to display some of our trinkets and not take space in our inventory

Had a few runs on stella last night, saw loads of ppl... no PvP  I guess its for the geiger counters lol

We did get attacked by one dude who we dropped I had a fantastic lvl3 stitcher I picked up on a prior run, he dropped a temptest, vulcano, combat Mk3, heavy shield a loada nades and 2 vitasprays.
Kind guessing he'd be foaming at that extract summary saying downed by a stitcher hahaha, Ill proably be paying the price for retaliating when I play next and

We started on naked runs (for the special place) then gradually just kept the gear on we found

where is the best place to get the hornet challenge? I am guessing spaceport on a bunker run. I tried doing buried city on a night mission but I just could not find enough. not bothered about massive score just want the 3 stars
