Arc Raiders

I haven't played in a while. Is it true now that they put you in more PVP lobbies if that's what you do mostly? Think that's bad myself, takes away the ramndomess of servers from every raid.

I really regret being precious with mine. for the longest of times I never used them. only recently did I realise how easy they were to craft so I started flinging them about and they are great fun. I suppose they will be back to being precious now. that said I can respect why they were made harder to craft.
The Arc Raiders discord is full of cry babies crying about Wolfpack being hard to make now. Good, cos they were so OP for Arc. Now you gotta kill Rocketeers with other weapons and higher risk.

It's behaviour based, but you don't get entirely PvP or PvE lobbies. Just more of the people with a similar play style to you.

There is still variation there, and it definitely feels best effort rather than strict. So even if you do get predominantly one or the other, you'll have raids where that isn't the case.

I've found it balanced, with a side of chaos that keeps it interesting.

They're still easy to kill. I don't know when it changed, but they started doing that weird thing where if you shoot them from miles away they take an age to get to you and start blasting you. Rather than zooming over and obliterating you.

That made them much easier to kill than they were before whenever that change happened.

Horrible in the open ofc. But I'm talking cover and time to target two thrusters. Even with medium ammo which I use predominantly these days.

yeah i use renegade III and can pop it in about 30 shots, just gotta be quick to get in to cover. I swear they hit me once at least every encounter. usually cos i get stuck on debris or something stupid

true. I wasn't necessarily complaining about losing them. more opining that I didn't make the most of it and had fun with them whilst I had. the chance

That's good to know. Nice one! Was putting me off diving back in. Also, is there a native effect if you don't prestige? What are the actual benefits in doing so? Expeditions I believe they are called.

you get some temp boosts in chicken foraging and XP boost..

and upto 5 permanent skill points for each expedition as well as (12 I think) permanent extra storage spots

I think they might have tweaked the BP drop rate as well, went on dam (no special map condition) to test and found 4 BP's in random junk locations

Not absolutely necessary then really, I think I'll just keep a full stash in that case.

Oh yeah, dont do it if you are not sure. I skipped the first expidition and no regrets either.

I am doing this one mostly as it'll give me something to do having to get everything again.

Also its really not that bad about the rocketeer drivers for wolfpacks.

I just went it to space port electrical storm killed 2 and bagged 5 drivers on my first go.

Also, holy ******* **** did they up the lightning!!! Man I was getting absolutely wrecked by it lol.

ok just had a dabble. the new map event is interesting.... runs ok on the steamdeck as well which is always a worry when they add new visual effects.

the 2 new arc are tough. I killed 2 of the ball things but both times they blew up before I could take them out taking all my shield and half my health.

the fire fly however... I think that needs some work. I took it out ok however I was in cover and the firefly was firing into a wall. I was fairly far back and should not have been in the line of fire, certainly I could not see any fire coming at me and yet it somehow still set me on fire.

How does it play/look? Is the pop-in any better? Stutter?
I don't think I can comment on that really as I was on the steam deck . unless you meant specifically how does it look on that if so.... tolerable but not amazing. clearly it's nothing like on a high end pc. I am fine with it however for casual gaming. in truth the steamdeck continues to impress me with how well it runs considering the hardware

Yeah I don't think I'll be playing it enough to make it worthwhile so might as well keep everything I already have to dip in and out when I want.

Ohh I like the new map condition. I think its really cool.

Also the new Arc, the Firefly thing is useless, short range and two taps with an Anvil and its down, its' no threat at all.

The other new ball thing on the other hand, ouch!

I had a rattler and took it down easy enough as well. however maybe in a flock with a hornet and a wasp if caught out in the open I could imagine it being a pain.
but the cover is definitely not working properly with the fire in some instances
