Arc Raiders

Just pulled 5 keys out of buried city cold snap.

To be honest, they really need to boost the loot in the key rooms. Having all those keys is almost like a chore, you usually spawn on the other side of the map and then its already been looted, or if not, often just junk.

I'd be tempted just to sell them but they are more or less worthless in credit value.
Really need to be brave enough to try the cold snap levels lol.

Just have too much fear I am going to get battered! Reflexes are too slow!

Small update:

Raiders!

Update 1.19.0 is going live right now. Please restart your game to download.

  • New cosmetics:
    • Devotee Outfit Set.
    • Two new haircuts.
  • Fixed an issue where the sell value was displayed incorrectly in the inventory when selecting attached mods.
  • Fixed an issue where the same item could be shown multiple times in the sell and recycle popup.
  • Fixed an issue where the player's Coin balance could display incorrectly after selling items with durability.
  • Fixed an issue where pressing Tab while using the Snaphook would allow players to put it in the safe pocket.
  • Fixed an issue where players and ARC could get stuck in a doorway at the Auditorium on Stella Montis.
  • Fixed an issue where two interact prompts would appear for the Comet.
  • Fixed a Zipline exploit on Blue Gate.
  • Fixed an issue where some bodies of water were not frozen on Dam Battlegrounds during the Cold Snap map condition.
  • Fixed an issue where Electromagnetic Storm lighting would appear too frequently.

Last week’s server issues caused some of you to lose your loadouts even after a successful extraction. We are reviewing these cases and will return items where possible over the next few days. While we do not normally offer compensation for every incident, this outage impacted a large number of players, so we are making an exception. Thanks for bearing with us while we sorted it out.

See you topside,

Ossen

SMALL UPDATE / PATCH NOTES
POSTED
Tue, March 3
Patch Notes 1.18.0

Tonight I have exclusively played Stella Montis trying to find those damned Geiger Counters. I didn't find a single GC, but I have had some of the best player interactions in this game ever. No PvP at all, all people questing and looking for clobber.

- Found a dude downed, trapped in a lift shaft unable to escape because of the ledge. I didn't have a defib so I went hunting for someone who did. Found someone, led him all the way back to the downed dude, rescued him and got out.
- Jumped off a ledge to get to the metro, died from the fall. Some dude serenaded me back to life as he defibbed me.
- Led a few people to a locked door/loot room and just went "all yours mate" and ran off. "What? Really?! ... Yep!"
- Lots of "after you, no I insist" moments.
- General whimsy and camaraderie.

OK, I'm in love with this game again. What a funny night. :D

It's class isn't it? I've never really played a game like it.
I was messing about in Buried City the other night. Got some decent stuff inc two blueprints for weapon attachments I didn't have plus found a load of trinkets in the apartments I planned on selling. Went down to get the train, player hiding in the shadows who had already called it in asked if I was friendly and asked if had any wristwatches I could sell. I had one, I said you can have it for free and dropped it. He dropped me an anvil, a WP and a blueprint. Could have gunned me down in the train and took it anyway.

And the flip side, hunting ticks in seed bank/ archives for trial, met a Raider who seemed friendly and we looked for the cell together that opens up seed bank all good and he said he was doing the same so cool, then he opens up on me but fails and I down him, he then starts pleading that he thought I was going to kill him when I equipped my gun so I give him the benefit of the doubt and defib him and we carry on, 8 shredders later and a bunch of ticks he stabs me in the back when looting, all part of the game though and it wouldn't be the game it is it this didn't happen..

I would have petitioned Embark for the dudes address, found out who his Mum was and worked my way into her graces. Made her divorce her husband so I could marry her, then as that dude's step dad I would send him to his room then make wild passionate love to his mother all night long so he had to hear it.

Some people.

Still playing this and still enjoying it. Lots of fun interactions. Did the expedition and continue to only arm myself with the Anvil as play on friendly servers. This is the only game I find myself happy to chat with other players. Went to Stella last night and got the Anvil BP (haven't found it before) a few other blue prints and the Anvil splitter. The new arc add a bit of a fresh dynamic to the game.

I will come back to acknowledge that after my initial 230 hours stretch I stopped playing this, for a "break". Reflecting on my comments about player count to be fair. What I expected was a crash at the end of its first month to half its player base, and then long term down to 10% of launch. That didn't happen so I have to eat my hat on that one. Still looking at the player numbers today about 5 months in or whatever it is, it's now down to about halve the initial peak, trending down.

Has any of the jank actually been taken out of it yet? My general feeling seeing patches break as much stuff as they fixed lead me to think this wouldn't be back to enjoyable for quite some time. The main reason my break turned into outright just staying away was technically it had become a bit of a joke with doors and buttons and stuff not working. Has all that stuff been fixed now? Like what's the state of the game?

Very little in the way of bugs, apart from aiming latching into buildings still. Thats annoy8ng, that might be a setting ive not been arsed to check though.

Yea seriously **** this, I'm no longer gonna bother with keys, particularly on a special map condition.

If you are not there within a minute it'll already be looted, so you just waste time running.

I picked up a key in spaceport for spaceport, I was only running day but thought **** it, not only was the room still open after maybe 15 minutes the loot was better than it mostly is on a special condition.

The Idea is you run the keys on special condition for better loot but honestly I don't think it's worth it.

Cant ever remember keys being worth the effort, even on special condition maps. I've always just sold any I get
