Oh yes, that is regular Parodius :).

Edit: In hindsight may have been a better option as Jotego added it to the MiSTer recently. But I had chosen that quite some time ago now!

Nice, I love R-Type as a kid. Fond memories watching my old man play it on the Master System. Very accessible om MiSTer as well :).
 
R-Type completely went over my head, all my mates loved it, but it just never clicked for me.
I'm annoyed at myself that I didn't manage to post a Parodius score, maybe I'll try to do an R-Type one as penance.
 
God I forgot what a git this game was but it's the first game I've really played before (the rest I'd never really played)

I remember the name of the game but don't really remember playing it all that much but may have done on C64 or something back in the day.

First few tries got me to.

For whatever reason I've had to revert to an older version of MAME as the newer versions wont run the game for me, even from their official romsets, which is strange.
 
173,600 - almost beat the ship twice! Stupid going to fast got me killed right at the end as I tried to swop the protector around and then I got stuck on my last life, almost beat the high score damn it! I'm on MAME 0.275 sets at the moment and it's all working there.

I managed to get on this tonight, 113,900. Managed to get to the third level and got caught out by the ship. I'm going to try and have another crack at this in the week.
 
I've been thinking about some more choices for this and wondered how accessible NARC is for others? I have it on the Analogue pocket and want to put more time into it.

I'd like to add - Gunbird 1

Maybe Time Crisis depending on how others felt?
 
Narc is playable on mame no problem, isnt on mister. Time Crisis - i think these are a bit easy with a mouse compared to a lightgun?
