Hi,

I'm a big Beat 'Em Up fan, when I bother to put the practice in I'm pretty good playing with a pad I can hold my own online. I have played a few a few stick players though and some of them are deadly, I would buy one but I can't really wrap my head around being good with an arcade stick. I remember playing beat 'em ups in arcades in my younger days and almost remembered it being awkward, definitely preferred a pad.

I know the transition from pad to stick will vary from person to person so I'm not going to ask how difficult it is, is the transition worth it though? Would you see pretty good leaps in your game I mean? If anybody can let me know I'd appreciate it, cheers fellas.

Edit:

I'm on PS3, if I were to buy a stick my limit would be £200.

First of all what console are you playing on, as far as I am aware xbox 360 pad is terrible for fighting games but ps3 not so bad.

All best players play using arcade sticks, you can get a very good quality arcade stick for about £100.

I personally can't play fighting games using a pad, it just doesn't work when you need 6 buttons and some complex movement to do in short period of time.

Sorry, I'm on PS3 (edited my original post to reflect that).
