hi, iv just got my pc running again and my cpu temp is 39/40c when browsing windows.

the motherboard temp is 32c

Is this cpu temp normal for a 32c motherboard? Im starting the think i didnt put enough as5 on or something?

iv overclocked my cpu to 2.6

and voltage varies from 1.40 to 1.46 every thew seconds according to cpu z?

Remember AS5 will take a up to 200 hours and several thermal cycles to achieve maximum particle to particle thermal conduction and for the heatsink to CPU interface to reach maximum conductivity.

My Opty 146 sits at 36c idle with the freezer pro (stock TIM, 1.4Vcore, 2.8GHz)

oh right

Before i applied the heatsink, i simply put a pea sized blob on the ihs, then whacked on the heatsink

when i was installing the heatsink, i moved and twisted it loads before doing the clip because i was stuggling to get one side of the brackets clipped on. I thought this is what messed it up or something

also used the arctic purifier stuff aswell, cleans it well

Sounds like you got it on right :) A pea-sized amount sounds like loads though
