Are any reviewers UK based of CPU/GPU

+1 to kitguru, prefer some of the reviewers/presenters to others but overall do a great job and good to see from a UK source as sometimes the big US/Australian channels are less relevant due to pricing differences etc.

Why do you want to have a UK reviewer? Are the cards offered here different to others in the world?

Because reviews usually have a bit in about price/performance and an opinion on whether you should buy one which uses these factors.
Because without price you can't judge if a card is good or not? 5080 being released at £500 or £1500 would give a totally different opinion no?
You can't do a complete review of a product without a price, it's integral to discerning if other areas such as performance or quality of materials is of value to the end user.

But UK pricing (as you've probably seen) has a huge disparity across retailers... You generally use common sense and are aware on a broader spectrum, what the UK RRP or price bracket it's going to be in. Hell, even the NVIDIA keynote told us that information.

So from a review perspective, why limit to just a 'UK reviewer' and look at multiple sources for performance, temps, and capability etc? Everyone should be able to understand if it's "worth it" after seeing performance benchmarks.

Sorry if I'm coming across pedantic, I just think it seems narrow minded to suggest a UK reviewer is going to tell you a firm price for your consideration, when they have zero control over the retailers as to what they are actually charging? Which then totally skews any price to performance ratio you're being reliant upon.

but thats exactly the point, a good UK based reviewer IS going to take all of that in to consideration, just like the good US reviewers do searches on what cards are actually available at what prices in the US reviews

I can't say I've ever used a review outlets opinion on "value for money" when factoring in a purchase decision, in a decade and a half of being into computer hardware at this point. A lot of them are frankly full of it anyway, I actually read a 5080 review earlier where the guy claimed that the card only having 16GB of VRAM was a good thing for nonsensical reasons.

The only things I look at are raw data on performance/power use etc, I decide on how much that's worth myself.

I find the price info helpful as i'm not often following prices. If a GPU suddenly appeared that had great value regardless of spec, then i'd be interested in knowing. Those who follow GPU pricing consistently, sure there's little need, but then there's little need to even watch reviews as a whole, it's only the raw numbers that matter. The latest Intel offerings were a good example of this, the US had a totally different vibe to them.

And this is exactly where I'm coming from, but clearly others seem happy to take at face value a 'content creators' verdict on price to performance as gospel... Always do your own research.

Frankly, I'd argue doing so on high value purchases, which GPU's are very much becoming for most, is extremely naïve.

Media hasn't improved over the years, its became less impartial and more prone to dodgy takes for the sake of not being blacklisted. If you're worried about spending thousands on a single item, you can take a few hours to do rudimentary research.

100% ... I'm here for the benchmark data and nothing else! Couldn't give a frick on the rest of their opinions, I'll form my own view once I'm informed lol
