you have to make your own profile for each game
Mmm, what else would I and the poster you were responding to be referring to.
The only thing i that would like is that the profiles would auto activate.
The difference tends to be that NVidia are very pro-active in delivering new and user friendly features as well as ensuring game compatibility, whereas ATI are usually reactive and often leave useful features which would be easy to implement by themselves to 3rd parties to do.

Much easier to work with than CCC, profiles auto activate when an exe is run & you can have multiple different exe's set to activate a single profile, amongst other things.
If I was ATi, I'd give the author a large sum of cash & include it with future drivers, as it's how CCC should have dealt with games / profiles from the beginning.
I mean they sell gaming cards, at least follow nvidia's lead and give the consumer all they need to get the best out of their GFX card, with it all at your fingertips in a simple but effect UI. You can say it's user preference all you want but it does make the nvidia package a lot more attractive than ATI's.
3) NV 3D requires 2 cards realistically for performance.
Not true at all, there's only a handfull of games I need to turn details down for 3D, and I'm on a single 480.
Similarly people who have got 470s and 3D vision have commented here that it runs well on their cards.

And while we're on the subject of 3D, let's not forget that Nvidias integration of it is pretty much perfect, whereas ATi are still dragging their feet with owners having to use inferior 3rd party drivers if they want to try out 3D.
If gaming need frame rate at above 60fps at all time instead of what's the user consider smooth enough and playable, then PC/PS3/XBOX360 gaming would had long been dead...So your holding 60fps in 3D vision ?.
Its to early to judge NV version 3D as the future because 3D is in its infancy & the direction of implementation could change allot which could make 3D vision redundant.
I would drag my feet as well & you think the majority will go out & buy a 120 monitor just to try out 3D.
Its just not mainstream enough yet to worry about.
NV only rushes forward in propriety incompatible with any other technology standards to sell cards.
The long term viability is irrelevant as long as it got the card sold then that's all that matters.

Well, everyone playing Doom, Quake and Starcraft 1 again actually doesn't sound too bad though
Surely until you try 3D vision none of us can really comment on it?
I intend to buy the 3D vision kit for my next big purchase,as for saying if its good or bad i cant say as i havent used it yet
My comments is on the know facts about the tech which i have had first hand experience with & 60hz shutter flickers no matter what & i will not put up with that.
So your holding 60fps in 3D vision ?.
No, but if you'd had any sort of experience with 3D vision you'd realise you don't need 60fps for a smooth gameplay experience - 35fps+ works just fine
