Are back-lit LED screens good for photo processing?

Ok.. I think you're spreading your cash a bit thin here, and prioritizing completely the wrong aspects of this new monitor. 24" is no good if it's 24" of arse ;)

Look at a second hand Dell 2209W as per andi's suggestion.

What is your current monitor model out of interest?

Morning all,

Have been having a good think about what you said and thought that I've gone for years on my current 17's....theres no rush to buy so I can save for a few more weeks and get a good 24" IPS :)

So...spec me. Is the Hazro still the king of the crop? :)

Inputs....DVI, VGA and ideally HDMI please, not bothered about others or stands tbh. :)

Cheers!]

Oh and currently I have 2 x Iiyama Prolite E435s

You mentioned Hazro... Prepare for the onslaught of 'don't go there as there is no real warranty' claims. I'll let the others fill you in on that one :p. Saving up for a 24inch IPS is a good idea. Would you be after a broad gamut (beyond sRGB) or standard gamut (sRGB) model? Since you do print matching and have been using those Iiyamas I guess standard gamut.

Go for IPS matey if you're serious about photos. If it's only casual, fine, stick with TN (I have), but having used both there's only one option if you're serious about doing photo editing.

Lol is it because they are a foreign company and only OcUK stock them? (or atleast used to? :p)

Standard will be fine...

And I guess you'll be wanting 16:10 1920x1200? I don't think you'll find a better deal than the HP ZR24w at the moment for a solid sRGB IPS monitor. If you don't mind so much about the resolution or indeed the 24 inches (ha) then the U2311H is the best deal going.

....That's a no for the Hazro then. Ok the HP ZR jobby, how much should I pay for this? Don't want my pants pulled down over the price ;)

You should really be looking at £330-£360 for this. A bit of a price range but some of the cheapest places may not be so well known or trustworthy ;).

Cool beans, will take a look around. Cheers ;)

Yeah it's probably the cheapest price you'll find from a trustworthy place. You may find it for £10 less but at least you can actually trust OcUK. :D
