all liabilities!? just got a quote for a porsche boxster out of interest and it came back reasonably ok except for one thing - the excess!!! my god... £3000 was the norm!

they aren't very dear anyway! as a comparison i picked a porsche 911 GT2 - bit higher premium but excess was around half the value and the car was worth twice as much!!

Lots of fires caused by curling tongs being left on in the glove box I think

Does seem like a stupidly high excess though.

I think you will find when you try to process you WILL get a "Computer Says No!" and have to speak to some Joey in a call centre...who will then say "Ah, yes, it's changed slightly, the GT2 is £949584058043584043509349050958 with a £223004454583458485048094850943509438509438509843 excess"

Really? If the website has given you that quote do they not have to allow you to take out the policy providing you've not lied about anything?

They were happy to process my £400 quote on my 530i Sport.

I have been down the road and asked to call the call centre to find my 'points of clarity' made the quote go up with my GT3 and actually my first M3 too if I recall correctly. It might have changed of course, but I struggle to see how a lad in his early/mid 20's will get insurance on a top group supercar for £720 no matter what the website may say. I have got to processing stage previously and found a message with a number to call but as I say it might have changed..
