Are Deliveroo liable?

OP name checks out. :)

Watch out mods don’t like direct insults. I was temp banned for it. :)

OP Maybe you mate should have been looking where he was going. Unless he is blind?

Also was it a steep hill was the deliveroo bike rider going 90mph? Or just 1mph on a straight path?

OP been curious does this mean you going to try a hit n run scenario with deliveroo?

As above, remove "Deliveroo" from the equation.

Makes no odds who they were working for / what they were doing. Even if a normal cyclist hit you whilst walking on a pavement they'd be personally liable.

Was your "friend" hoping to bag a free takeaway?

So wrong.
I'd love for all my van drivers to be personally responsible. Would lower my fleet policy costs massively

Friend steps out of garden onto pavement to almost being hit (hard) by a Deliveroo ebike riding illegally on the pavement.

Would Deliveroo be liable for any consequences or would it be the individual rider?

Out of curiosity.

Maybe I guess, but keep in mind you don't know that it was a deliveroo driver* - he or she would need to contact them and make a complaint, they'll try and find out if someone was on a delivery around that time, in that area.

*just because they're carrying a deliveroo bag doesn't mean they're not picking up a job for uber eats, just eat or even commuting home/not on a job etc..

Same thing happened to me except it was a moped, and to add insult to injury going the wrong way on my one way street :D

I shouted at him and turned out he was stopping into my immediate neighbours with their dinner :o

"Insult" went over my head! explain?

Bikes shouldn't be on the pavement why should you have to lookout for them?

What a bizarre world you live in..... so you check your supermarket food for things like salmonella "just in-case"

;) no

You lot need to learn how to use Google properly.

Your friend never got hit by a bike so why are you even bothering thinking and asking about it? Are you planning on doing a hit n run? ;)

Are you the type to destroy someone's life by actions like this? :D

I was stealth banned by Burnsy years ago [i.e. put on moderated then he just deleted everything I posted so I left :)]

Anyway, it's all good now. The new school of mods are way better.
