You need to play some Indie Games.

I never bothered buying or playing most of the games on either of your lists because they simply arent as good as they are hyped up to be.

You need to take a break from gaming and do something else with your time. I'm guessing you've been playing right through the summer and now you're bored. What you should have done is, do other stuff in the summer and leave the winter for gaming, especially since you have no money.

I enjoy keeping up with hardware releases and game release yet the time I had when I was single and child free is no longer there

Take some time off, i took 6 months away form pc's/consoles all together and only used my girl fiends laptop for some light forum browsing, best thing i have ever done, have now rebuilt my pc and have a hunger back for games i haven't had for a good couple of years.

I cant recommend it enough.

This. On top of this, try playing games that are totally out of your comfort zone. I've always been a hardcore shooter type of person with my entire library of game being Counter-Strike, STALKER and Battlefield sorts. I then got hold of games like Civilization and X3 and it was a breath of fresh air.

Based on those lists, you seem to ba a casual gamer who has clearly just been gaming too much. Take a break mate,

Do as Kanifee says and just go for a game that takes your fancy

I've been playing since January and I'm bored out of my ****ing mind. The sooner I can get a job the better but its not looking promising and all graduate programmes are for Sept 2012 start.

I may start working out for the sake of my sanity, but a decent spread of games will always help. Which reminds me I never got round to trying the Limbo demo...

Me, my brother and my two best friends have also, all around the same time hit this huge brick wall of boredom from games. We then went out on a quest to just find any game that could keep us busy, mostly cooperative/online/mp so we could play together and we were unsuccesful. If it's listed, we've probably played it and got sick of it.

Dead Island is a good filler, but I'm not sure how long it'll last.
Roll on Oct/Nov!

play less games and be more selective, break the time up with a different hobby like playing a guitar or with a woman.

You need Space Marine.

It's not boring at all, how can it possibly be boring, you walk around as a walking TANK dispatching ork scum with a variety of weapons including something called a THUNDER HAMMER.

I guarantee it will save you from any boredom, its impossible to find it boring.

If you think its boring, you're dead.

So what you're saying is theres no challenge to it and you're pretty much just walking through corpses who don't know it yet?

Why do you need to spend so much time playing computer games have you got a girlfriend would say go out more but the weather is so bad an summer what a joke we don't get summers in england anymore.
Surpose you better off playing games then getting drunk down the pub every night.
What you need is to find a cheap hobby joining a club saves money an makes it more fun.

An yes there is a lot of boring games around try to avoid buying them you also seem to be hard to please game wise.
