as i have a H81 series motherboard i only get 4 sata ports which are all full with a spare hdd just sitting in my case doing nothing, now i dont care for raids, tried it, never had issues, but dont need it anyways, however i would like my 4th driver and maybe get more, installed, but finding a good priced pciex1 expansion card thats actually good is difficult and so at some point i think i might change my board, just wondering if gaming ones are the answer? ideally in the haswell socket.

Personally, I bought the Asus z97 Pro Gamer, socket 1150, it has 6 sata ports in total, it has the option of combining two into a single sata express port, but it isn't really worth it unless your using very high end storage.
