Are men's slacks also chinos?

Trousers have a proper waist fit with full length button or zip fly, they sit comfortably over the shoe upper not quite touching the ground at the back.
Slacks conform to an american garment worn on the hips and of varying length, chinos similar except they may be waisted and of a more military cut.

I like mags posts most of the time.

They're absolutely harmless and I love that he gives absolutely zero care in the world for whether people are interested in them or not.

Sometimes I can't be bothered to read them, so I just ignore them rather than getting in a huff about someone posting something that I do not find entertaining.

People act like GD is some final internet bastion of high quality content

You keep being you mags!

Mags is an international treasure.

I prefer slacks. I can't wear my trousers over my hips, it feels weird - and neither do I like ankle swingers either.

I'm surprised they call trousers pants in NZ. As a Brit in the US I just can't call trousers pants. This has lead to a couple of funny stories.

One being my son in pre k, the class talking about colours going round and everyone saying the colour pants they are wearing. My son knowing pants means underwear proudly states red and the teacher being American corrects him saying he's wearing blue pants, so my son says no they are red and proceeds to pull down his blue joggers showing off bright red spiderman pants to everyone. The teacher then realised that in the civilized world we refer to pants as trousers and had a good laugh about it with us
