It's been a few years, but i used to run a weekly Gaming LAN and am looking at doing the same after having moved...

Basically, upto a dozen or so people, LAN gaming but almost certainly without internet...

Is it still possible? We used to play all sorts of driving/fps games.... But it seems to me that they all now need a live net connection... Can we play the latest CoD games offline, or is that only in the realms of skid row etc?

Cheers gents,

Looking at the latest COD and BF4, i'm not certain they are going to work...

Last time we were doing this kind of thing, AlterIW was around and helped massively. Most games had dedicated servers we could run, or ran with in-game servers for Flatout2 etc....

I'm sure there's a way, depending on location might even be able to piggy-back on an unsecure WIFI...

I think I'll stick to CODMW unless I can find a patch of newer ones...

L4D2 and other HL mods, Garry's Mod for example

I think the new Counterstrike has a LAN option too...

Need a bit of variety from the driving games now I think... Flatout2 is a blast but will try to find some newer stuff

I'm a big Blizzard (Warcraft/Starcraft) fan, but I tend to find that people are happier playing quick games than longer ones...

Hence why drivers/FPS usually win out...
