Hi,

The wiki site doesn't seem to really say, I know the PAL version has a chip to convert the native NTSC to PAL but will the machine play any card you put in it does anyone know ?

I'm tempted by one if I can find some good games. :)

Hi mate,

as far as i remember. I had a pcengine, supergrafix, turbo duo cd and a hand held back in the day (showing my age!!) ;) they are region coded mate. Just get a U.S. one as most ot the games were available there. Just make sure its had an rgb modification scart cable soldered into it :) The CD-ROM add on is worth getting for lords of thunder alone!

Cheers,
Hugest

I just did a quick bay search for PAL in the event anything existed and it doesn't, the exact wiki info is -

TurboGrafx-16 - European (PAL) variant. Slightly different PCB layout to accommodate additional circuitry for PAL display, otherwise is identical to the NTSC TurboGrafx-16.

So hmmmmmmm region/no region its a tricky one. I bought one off the bay yesterday but haven't received it yet obviously. Does come with one game but its the condition that interested me (that and I collect consoles :o )

pc engine turbo grafix pal version in box with accessories never been used box is tatty due to neglect only taken out of packaging to check in working order includes top shooter game on hu-card blazing lasers! this machine was designed by hudsen soft and nec to combat nintendo and there royalty charges and far out powerd the mega drive and should have won the 16bit war but lost due to poor marketing

Just need to snag a couple of titles before I sit it on the shelf with the others lol
