Judder at 25hz ?
As far as I'm concerned the Pioneer LX508D is the best Tv avaliable in Europe at the moment. This is the 1080p model. However, the 720p models are not far behind, and even the 4208XD will beat any 1080p 42" in terms of actual image quality.
Your best bet is to track one down -on display-, in a proper environment and evaluate the image quality yourself.
went into JL on the weekend and compared kuros 4280XD with the panasonic TH42PZ85 on SD mode with the F1 showing on there and I can say the pioneer came out way tops for me. the picture was crisper, brighter, better colours and handled the fast motion much better than the panasonic. yes at 50cm dist I could see some tearing on the cars but hey I don't plan to be that close to the set. I saw the HD on the kuros and that was excellent as well. The panasonic wasn't hooked up to HD so I couldn't compare that but with my viewing being 75%SD I think that made up my mind.
SO subject to a price match - I will soon be taking delivery of the pioneer PDP4280XD.
Thanks for all your help guys.
final question - any links to the right settings for the above set?
Why o why o why did you look at that set, once you do, you HAVE to buy one. I got roped in by its charms as well
Blair is right about *** 1080p kuros, but atm it is a very very bad time to even consider buying one as the new 9G LX models are around the corner, coming in June, and the 50inch 1080p entry level version shold cost about £2.5k which is an absolute bargain. Well it is if you can afford one![]()
50inch is too big for my living room (living in a flat) + price then goes up and up and I think I have to draw the line somewhere.
It wasn't only the blacks but the pioneer produced a vey sharp, crisp image, which was very pleasing to the eye...now I can't wait to take delivery!!!
if you sit more than 8 feet away, its never too big!
Awesome, glad you saw how great this tv is. Looking forward to pics with bread![]()
