Now that MS are repairing faulty 360's would it be safe to say that consoles they repair and return are OK?

I won't say reliable because the 360 has a bit of history in this area, but I mean at least as reliable as a console being bought from new?

(Yes...before anyone asks, mine has died but I didn't really want to start another OMFG MY 360 HAS DIED! thread)

tbh, it all depends on whos repaired it, some people hae had them back only to find 3 red lighs as soon as the tur it on, some work for ages then go wrong and others just sell on.

its all very hit a miss.

One of my consoles was a launch console and I returned it after dieing. I then returned it again, then again. So in my experience repairs are no better. That said this one has been fine for almost a year now. So although it went back 3 times in the first year the last year has been trouble free.

It 3 RROD on me about 2 months ago but that was after a power cut. Been fine since.

My other console is still an original so I guess it's hit and miss.

Mine came back around december and it's working from since the previous 3RROD problem but I think the dvd laser is going to die eventually because sometimes it sees games as dvd's =/

I think that's roughly when MS started fitting the new cooling system wasn't it?

I've set up the repair online, so I'm now waiting for the labels and box to arrive. Just debating whether to get a new console in the meantime, or not.

edit...got email with UPS labels :)
