Are teeth implants painful?

This thread just remindedme to stick those little brushes between the teeth and rinse with mouth wash before bed. (On top of brushing)

As one gets older, it is more important to look after your gums than the teeth, cleaning the gaps between them with floss and those little brushes is a must. I do it everyday now, electric toothbrush helps with brushing and floss after meals. If I don’t clean the gaps for a week or so and I do it again it’ll bleed, that’s a warning and it also means you need to keep doing it. If you floss and keep the gaps clean it won’t bleed and the gums won’t recess and teeth won’t fall out.

Funny thing is my gums don't bleed and when a tooth falls out the is no blood on my tooth. It could be a circulatory problem I don't know?

Mine have been falling out for years.

No tooth decay just my gums have give up the ghost.

Am not sure how to proceed I have a pallet for 2 teeth but I cannot eat with it in, its a little embarrassing when you eating out. Hand over mouth and cough and click. :p

I have a little pot with all my teeth in that I have lost.

Just....wtf. Do you think this is normal that your teeth just decide to drop out? I'd be getting it looked at to see what the issue is.

My gums bled for year, infact they would start bleeding for no reason. Being an utter muppet I just ignored it and put up with bad breath and what not, and it was only until the front tooth started wobbling that i went to the dentist and he told me he couldnt do anything and it was a job for the specialists.

1500 Sheets and significant pain later, the gums are now sorted, it was horrible to have done, even though they numbed the mouth, it still felt like someone was taking a jack hammer to the crud around the teeth, and the blood, sheesh, ive never seen so much! odd thing is, my teeth are, and always have been in good shape, ive just not cleaned the gums and flossed enough, the gaps at the bottom accommodate the biggest Tepe grey brush quite easily now :(

My dentist keeps telling me off and that I need to do all that....I have no fillings at all and only need check ups and cleaning with the hygienist, but they say the bone in the jaw is receeding due to gum disease and my teeth could become loose

Yep, that was me for years, and now here i sit, £1500 lighter, missing bits of diseased gum, and with a loose front tooth. Do it before its too late.

Yea, I bought some floss last year....started using it last week :p

Think I prefer those interdental brushes, will have to get some again

Been a good few times and spent well over a grand trying to get it sorted. I gave up in the end as it was getting me nowhere.

Heredity the dentist said. :(

By the time am 50 i will be giving the best blow jobs in Liverpool. :p

How old are you if you don't mind me asking?

I have quite a few fillings but that was due from my teenage years when they were neglected and since then I've not had the need of just 1 filling in the past 20 years. For the past 10 years i have been using electric toothbrush and those little brushes.

Gum disease can also be a source of bad breath, so cleaning those gaps are very important, then rinse with mouthwash to finish it off.

Also, remember to brush your tongue !

My specialist told me not to bother with mouthwash, good brushing twice a day and interdental brushing once a day, was all that was needed.

Am 45 and they have been falling out for about 5 years, I lose at least one a year.

I brush with top of the shop toothpaste Fluoride 5000ppm, still no luck. :(

Interesting thread.

I need one done too. But it's not causing me any issues at the moment.

My dentist (a little pricey but very good) has a specialist that comes in and charges 2.5k. Which is super expensive.

A mate recommended me to another dentists who charge 1.2k. I asked them why so cheap? And they said because we do lots of them we can afford to spread the costs.

Anyway, for the moment I am leaving it.

Secondary question.

My dentist told me a normal routine is twice a year for a check up and the hygienist every 3 months.

Sounds excessive to me. He's also pricey.

Every time I go he keeps finding fillings to give me. :/ I look after my teeth as well as I can so a bit miffed that every 6 months I go I need fillings. (£95 each)
