Are the people in "life" different from the people in "hardware"

From the title I rather expected this to be a query if people seem different in "real life" compared with interaction on forums etc.

I suppose it is true to an extent that people will tend to post more in one section of the forums than another which is natural, I read and post in both hardware and in the life sections pretty regularly though as both have interest although in quite different ways. I'll read more than post in GD as a general rule because there are so many threads and not all I can or want to 'contribute' to.

I spend time in hardware when I'm doing stuff to my PC, I can't afford anything new and I've overclocked my machine as far as it will go. I can chat ******** anytime.

When I first came here I frequented GH. But after a while I just got bored of hardware. I just lost interest in hearing about the latest bits of hardware when I know I'm not going to be buying anything new for a couple of years.

Over a year ago since I used to frequent Hardware. I used to be totally clued up and used to spec a good few systems every day for people, but I think once I had my last upgrade, I decided I couldn't afford to do one again for a while being a poor student, so I dwindled and lost interest, and have lost touch a little also with the market, so not really gone back.

i used to be a hardware poster, clocked up around 3,000 posts in there, then i started to frequent life and ended up giving them all to gilly that one time!

now i hardly ever visit hardware! i guess ive just phased out of my computer building side for a while!

I get all over the place, but I'm a forum whore.
So am I :o
Don't tend to post much in the hardware sections but I'm always reading them, same with many of the forums.
