Are there any 22 inch monitors with good viewing angles

What would be better for watching HD videos:

A 22 or 24 inch monitor with 1920 resolution or just an HD ready tv, because the HD ready tvs resolutions tend to be worse than that.

For example, a quote from a 26 inch HD ready samsung tv:

"The set also sports an HD Ready native resolution of 1,366 x 768 (it's not realistic or even worthwhile to expect a full HD pixel count at this price/screen size) and compatibility with all HD signals up to and including 1080i"

Yet much smaller monitors manage a higher resolution. Why?

Yet much smaller monitors manage a higher resolution. Why?
Viewing distance. TVs are intended to be viewed from several feet away, where the quality difference between 720 and 1080 is pretty small on a 26" screen. So there's little point in pushing up the cost by using a 1080 panel.

Monitors are completely different, of course.

Can't really decide.

I think a monitor will be better than a tv just because the resolution is better. As long as it's a VA panel.

How many types of VA panels are there? What is the best to get?

Just to throw the cat amongst the pidgeons, at 24" you also have the option of S-IPS panels which are arguably even better than VA in viewing angle and color reproduction. They're the same panels used by Apple, Dell, NEC in their high-end monitors.

The Hazro HZ24W all aluminium monitor is available through OcUK. I've got one in front of me now and love it.

"Black depth should be good, helping to allow detail in darker scenes to be distinguishable. The HZ24W performed as one might expect from an S-IPS panel here, with black depth being quite average. It was recorded at 0.38 cd/m2 after calibration and with luminance set at 122 cd/m2. Unfortunately, S-IPS is not strong in this area."

What are the best panels for watching videos? S-IPS or VA?
