Are there any games like C&C ?

Ok if you want tanks, soldiers, planes, ships, lots.off different islands with different types off resources and the choice off mods then http://springrts.com/ is the game very much like c&c and ta.
 
I was playing C&C since the beginning, truly awesome game and story line. The actors are awesome except when command and conquer 4 came out which was a load of ****. But company of heroes has a similar game play as command and conquer 4 there are unit caps so you cant tank rush :D There is base building but sadly no harvesting. Also regarding supreme commander it is a good RTS a must buy! Also I'm surprised no one has mentioned dawn of war.

Yeah I took that to mean the "proper" C&C games, since a lot round here don't like to include Generals with the rest of 'em ;)

Is a shame he won't try StarCraft tho... at least the first one, which is quality :)
 
Dawn of war for shizzle, its like the old school c&c (red alert, tiberium sun). Brilliant base building, plenty of tech, loads of variaty, graphics are still decent by todays standards. There are 3 add ons to it aswell i think, winter assult is one.
 
Supreme Commander.
Starcraft.
Warcraft 3 is fun until you learn how to consistantly win in skirmish maps.
Z is a really old game but still fun.
