It would be nice if they put wrath of the lich king expansion on the classic server. Got burnt out on retail wow with the exp grind

wow classic is indeed a thing and the game is just as good as it was then. the community is more toxic and unfriendly, you also will not be able to commit the time, effort and energy you did 15 years ago. It takes allot of effort to keep a questing/dungeon group around the same level if in fact you manage to find that group in the first place.
it also gets to a point where you can no longer play it on your own, or you end up skipping content.

If you are looking into it. You just need to buy a sub for "current" wow and you get access to classic. I don't think you need to purchase the most recent expansion and all the previous content is free.

Sorry to hear that you seem to have drawn the short stick in terms on community. There's been nothing like toxic community for me playing the game, on server at least.

Somethings you have to consider that are very different to original vanilla are things like realm discords and cross server discords, which is a direct mixing of both horde and alliance in the same place, something that is not possible in game and in years gone by was restricted to forums only, that were moderated heavily and so limited the communities ability to be toxic.

In terms of the having to skip content i disagree here. Classic is way more casual friendly then vanilla was, with so many players know so much more about the game now, all current content is achievable with random groups, so if you want to play casual, can get to 60, and have an evening or two per week then there is plenty to experience in game. The increase server pops do have one good thing going for them as well, its a lot easier to get groups going for any dungeon you need, so much easier then vanilla, spending 1-2 hours just forming a group, is more like 5 minutes now.
