How far above ground you are?

I absolutely know 100% that Google Maps used to have an indicator that you were so many feet above ground when zooming in or out but that feature has now gone.
I've been on some other popular maps but I can't find this useful feature anymore.

Or it is there and I'm blind.

I want to know how high sea levels will rise if the ice caps melt so I know where to buy my next house. I saw a documentary about it called The Day After Tomorrow.

I don't think that's possible, because a distance above the ground is basically meaningless for a mosaic ok stitched photos - how do you compare that to what you really see when in the sky?

I've been on that before, it doesn't show how far above the ground you are.
Isn't elevation how far above sea level you are?
Yes, elevation is height above sea level.
If you're not on the ground, how is a map going to know how high you are

Trigonometry.

If a certain size of item measures a certain distance on the map, then the virtual viewpoint must be at an exact, and calculable, distance above it.
