Simple really, as it says, can you get a portable hard drive that'll use both e-sata and usb (not at the same time or course).

Im looking for portable not external, dont want to mess around with power wires etc. Doesn't have to be stocked at OCUK (though A: its a plus if it is and B: i dont want the shop it comes from, just the model)

Thanks!

sounds like a plan meANS I CAN GET OTHER DRIVES ASWELL WHICH IS A BONUS! THANKS! (PS DOES THIS THING WITHSTAND NOCKS AND DROPS??)
EDIT: OOPS ACCIDENTAL CAPPS

i have a similar question so sorry for thread hyjack, but can I put a 2.5" SSD in that enclosure and run it off esata?

i can vouch for the one meatloaf suggested, the best external enclosure I've used, the 390 and 290 are really solid, unlike other flimsy models (including older icyboxes)

I've got the same IcyBox that MeatLoaf suggests - it's been a good enclosure and I've had no problems with it.
At the end of the day, most 2.5" enclosures are just going to be a metal case screwed around your 2.5" HD, so as for withstanding knocks and drops, that will depend on the HD chosen. Having said that, it won't be any more susceptible to them than any brand-name portable HD.
If you choose an HD with a freefall sensor, you'll increase it's reliability if you drop it while it's powered on...hopefully that won't be happening though?!
