Ok when I boot the PC up, there are 2 slight freezes after the first screen, one of these is an B3 in the bottom right side of the screen
And one of them is A3 in the bottom right of the screen

What do these mean?

Same thing happens when I try and go into BIOS, just gets stuck on a screen that looks like this

B2

I already made a post similar, but meh, looks like u guys are just as puzzled as me *sigh

Well I am beat, I will give an exact rundown of the situation, please can anyone who has any idea let me know what is going on.

Basically when I boot the PC up, I cannot get into BIOS, it freezes with the image mentioned in the previous post on the screen

When I clear the CMOS, I can get onto the BIOS once, then I cant again until I reset the CMOS again

I can however boot into Windows (however the things mentioned in the first post happen) and run everything, have installed Chipset and GFX drivers etc. But I am concerned that this BIOS issue means there is something wrong with my PC, only thing I can see visibly not working is the Power LED on the PC.

Ok, and how would I make the Pen drive boot, also could you link me to the BIOS ver I would need, cos I cant find my exact MOBO on the MSI site or atleast I dont see the GEn3 version on it

Sorry for being difficult =/

Thanks a lot mate
Right so as I can only access the BIOS once after resetting CMOS, how would you say I should go about doing it? (Also should you unzip the RAR onto the Pen drive). Also do u mean there is an updated BIOS included with the BIOS?

Thanks -.-

Ok, I think I get how to do it, still, sounds risky, what if the USB devise fails during the flash =/, from what I have heard that = new mobo needed
However on startup the Bios version says it is only version 1, so it probably does need to be flashed as the one u linked there is version 23 lol

Hehe well said, what are the chances of it actually fixing my issue? As a general guess, as u obviously cant know

And also will that BIOS definately work or is there something I should do to make absolutely sure its the right one?

Ok so, if my pen drive is drive K should the stuff be in
K://
or
K://7681vN1

Meaning should I drag the folder in the zip, or just the individual files to the pen drive

Sorry I jus dont wanna mess it up =/ Its my first build so I am still learning, ty for baring with me

Ok so do I need both these files
E7681IMS.N10
and
AFUDE238.exe

I mean, if it hadnt cost a lot of money and I could jus go and get another one easily, I would jus be like, meh well I guess I will find out, but sadly that isnt the case =/

And flashing from version 1.1 or something as it currently is to version 23.1 in one go isnt likely to cause problems?

Geez I still havent got the courage up, facepalm

But I am thinking I should wait till Wednesday, cos I got aload of work to get done for tuesday, and I am at uni all day tuesday lol. I will get too distracted if it works or doesnt work

Anyhow, I can confirm the mobo manual and box, say Z68A-GD65 (G3), So I guess that means the BIOS you showed me are DEFINATELY the right ones

Hehe thanks mate your a legend

Anyhow, yea there probably will be a lot more, they have that many releases already, and I believe that mobo is relatively new, too bad it had to get to me with such an old BIOS =/.

I do have one question tho, could something wrong with the HDD cause the error that I am going to do the flash to try and repair? Because I do get a message at startup saying HDD is not detected, even though it is there and correctly wired because I have windows installed on it =/

Yea it is, the Disc Drive and HDD are both in that SATA 3, I guess it cant be the HDD that is causing the BIOS not to load anyhow, I mean it boots into Windows fine I can save files on it and everything, I dno if this could be linked in anyway to the BIOS needing a CMOS reset every time to get into it

HDD is here:

Only thing I wonder on that pic is what the socket to the right of the white SATA connector is

Thanks

I think it must be that I need to do a BIOS flash
