Are uni students really this fragile?

lol, racists and sexists getting sacked - is that your point?

You miss the point a heck of a lot. There's a difference between perception and meaning. He clearly states something viewed as sexist or racist. That doesn't imply it was.

Same as it ever was. The education system will always be the bastion of the triggered, no matter what the trigger is. Bright people, lots of opinions little to no experience of life.

Most grow up in the end, we all do, but for now they will be angry at the world and double angry when you question their world view. Same as it ever was.

I just watched the clip and I saw nothing wrong with it.

Exactly - it's a guy who is clearly passionate about the subject, explaining the situation from Hitler's viewpoint and making it a bit more interesting by doing so with a (terrible) German accent and adopting some of his mannerisms. That doesn't mean he agrees with, or supports that viewpoint. Would people prefer a 48 slide Powerpoint presentation instead?

Anyone who is too thick to realise that has no place at Cambridge (or any other university).

That's fine, and people can chose whether their forum is suitable for such behaviour. It was decided on reflection that this forum wasn't suitable for it. Simples. Just like that mate who makes too many yo mamma jokes.

Which is fine (even if I don't agree with it).

This part however: "Wants to share this with other unis to blacklist him from all such unions up and down the country." is ridiculous.

I think we're heading to a war of some kind.

There seems to be an attempt to forget history under the guise of that being a good thing.

People are already less tolerant of different points of view. If you disagree with someone these days you become at the very least a disliked person. In the pass you just had a different of opinion, that was all.

A lot of people talk today who are more interested in taking sides than solving the problem. These tend to be people who think they can shout their head off, or type, obscenities and think there will be no come back to them in reality. I think as we advance forward they are going to have a rude awakening.

It was the same 30 years ago, I remember well because I'd be the only person disagreeing and the reactions were unforgettable.

These ones don't seem very fragile, they seem more like bullying thugs:

Israeli Ambassador Tzipi Hotovely was chased out of a university debate by angry LSE students and activists waving Palestinian flags.

The crowd attempted to rush the Ambassador as she fled her controversial debate on the future of the Middle East at the university clutching flowers.

Video from outside LSE on Tuesday night showed security guards bundling Ms Hotovely into her embassy-supplied Jaguar as police attempted to fend off the group who can be heard chanting, “Aren’t you ashamed?”

Quite a stretch to think that's the issue at hand here.

It was a dude LARPing as Hitler as part of a serious debate

Whitewashing/forgetting history is folks who make claims like "RACISM DOESN'T EXIST".
