Somewhere in the middle.
Korean big screen monitors.

Namely Wasabi Mango branded ones.

I ask just because I'm tempted by them and usually like to hear people's opinions on things. Obviously no discussion of price / competitors are allowed.

The panels look the same as some other bigger branded ones.

There used to be a guide on what could and couldn't be talked about but seems to have been unstickied or something.

I apologise in advance if this needs to be removed.

It was purely for discussion and input from anyone with experience. I've owned a Korean 27' IPS for years and it's been solid so I'm considering a similar route on upgrade.

Although to be honest the 34 superwide acer at 600 is tempting!

The rules seem a bit arbitrary, you should be able to talk freely about products OC don't sell, they're not competition. Historically though korean imports have had very iffy warrantys.

Ive mentioned my crossover monitor many times - I dont see why not.

btw the philips that everyone seems to be looking forward has already been out for many months ... the wasabi mango 42+ inch monitor ie ips etc ... check out the reviews if you want to see what the philips will prob be like.

I've seen that the 42" Mango has freesync enabled too. Certainly seems pretty well specced. Youtube reviews seem positive too.

I really want a big screen just for playing Dirt Rally to be honest. I dont know much about input lag or any of that stuff but are these big screens likely to pose a problem?

Some of those bigger, higher resolution screens can have nasty input lag (50-60+ms) but far from a straight forward story.

I've never really rated those Korean, etc. monitors in the past for serious gaming use - even though some had high refresh rates, etc. the clarity in motion was no better than an average 60Hz IPS panel and sometimes worse but these days it a more complex story and can be hit and miss.

I've been using a PC Bank 27" 1440p IPS for about 4 years now and I think refresh rate is something I'm now looking to increase. Size is needs to go up too, otherwise whats the point eh :D

The Monitor market is bloody complicated. There never seems to be a simple "go to" monitor that suits everyone for whatever given scenario.

Its packed full of compromises :(

Yeah :( I spent waaaay too much money trying to find a monitor setup I was happy with - currently settled on a super-wide alongside a ROG Swift never found a one monitor solution that I was happy with. Still not entirely happy with the Swift (largely due to the quality control on them being poor for a supposedly premium product line) may end up changing it to something like the Dell equivalent if a new revision comes along.

I have a Korean xstar monitor been goig strong for years and at the time was very cheap compared to all the other 1440 monitors out.
