Are you a Friday slacker?

friday for me is the busiest day in the office without a doubt. possibly with the exception of tomorrow as that is going to be a complete nightmare (nearly as much work - half the staff). we struggled today so tomorrow is going to be much worse... and i can't even have a drink as i'm up so early. :(

I'd tell you that I left work at 18:25 this evening, but you wouldn't believe me because I'm a civil servant. Sort of, anyway.

I never slack on friday afternoons, in fact it is probably the peak of concentration for me during the week. If i don't get my swing just right off the first tee then all my work mates will take the **** out of me!

:)

I work flexy time(ish) so after putting in 50+hrs at work on Mon-Thurs (on a salaried 37.5 hrs) i think i deserve a bit of a break on a fri afternoon!

No swearing

No not really, still work until 5 or later. However, people tend to have birthday drinks on friday lunchtime/afternoon so I probably do work less hours but still fit all the work in.

In my old office it was work to 12:00 on a friday and then all off down the pub with the office phones redirected to mobiles :) People would drift back again between 13:00 and 15:00 depending on how much they wanted to slack off and if any issues had come up. Some of the DBAs would not make it back till 16:00 (just in time to go home).

Current office doesn't have that though (same company). My day today consisted of VPNing in at 07:00 from home and finding that my network password had expired, (which the ****** system won't let me rset over VPN), so while I could access the problem management systems and terminal servers I could not get into email or network shares to do any work i actually needed to do ... so it was keep an eye on things as best I could until ~09:00 when someone got into the office who could cover while I slogged my way in. Stayed in the office till 12:00 and then went home again and was busy all afternoon with work and voice conferences until ~17:30 ....

I hate Fridays, everything always crops up and needs to be "by the end of the week". At least I'm back to VPNing all next week, (VPN over ADSL2 is quicker than the access in the office and I can hange a 22" TFT off the work laptop at home which they wont buy me at work!)

took a 2 hour lunch down the pub today :o

i did go back to work later on but pretty much just ended up chattin to the ladies nearby, to be fair i'd worked myself to being near brain-dead this morning.

Friday is usually my worst day since one of our offices send everything to me on Thursday rather than on a daily basis.

Love the days that post gets delayed though :D
