I do night events at clubs and they set this new girl on last week, tonight I noticed quite a large amount of money missing during selling tshirts, around £35 not much but enough to notice, well I spotted this girl putting cash into her pockets and sneeking off for a joint and coming back 45 mins later, well I have never in my life grassed on a fellow worker but felt I needed to, looks like she wont be working tonight.

I feel like I did wrong, but why would a normal person steal petty cash and risk there next job been on the dole as they cant get one due to steeling!!!

Sad world if somebody thinks taking petty money is more valuable than keeping a job.... :(
 
In this instance you did correct, she stole cash, her own fault and been sacked is the only option.

Correct choice OP!
 
I wouldn't call that being "a grass" but rather being responsible. Whilst you might feel bad that she's lost her job over it ultimately it's her own fault.
 
Agree with all of the above, not grassing at all IMO.

Can't help feeling Gilly is onto something there though...

Well I guess it was best to let managment know as they could have thought it was anybody taking the money just glad I found the rat, silly woman :) I doubt she will learn she does not seem the type :(
 
OMG you monster... she had no choice.. she had to make things meet, while doing a double.. no triple job... and supporting her 2 year old coz her greedy selfish boyfriend and father of the baby ran off after he found out she was pregnant...

And on top of all that the social services told her if she cant support her kid they would take the child off her...

How could you sleep at night, knowing someone probably struggling for life.. you bad bad man... shame on you shame....



No am joking, well played what she did was not right... you were responsible... thumbs up!

Lol. Make your mind up.

You did the right thing though. Damn pot heads, always thieving to pay for their habit probably slopped off to buy some more whilst at work and she would have stolen from you at some point.
 
To damn right I am, just been through an 11month investigation. Which let's say has changed my outlook somewhat in relation to shopping in work colleagues, especial Health related issues. You may even think it's not worth peeing your boss of which is one of the many aspects which was the cause. But believe me if something happens. You need to be able to cover your back.

****ed of with myself more than them, for allowing them to put me in such a position. None of us stood up for ourselfs.

Hmmm I guess that I contradicted my self there!! :o

She told me what she was doing going out for one and not to tell as she could loose her job, dont tell me in the first place then!!! :rolleyes:
 
You should have told her to go home and sober up rather than reporting her to the manager!

In other news, you did the right thing - if she was stupid enough to a) steal and b) get caught, she deserves it.
 
I'd say you have done the right thing, OP.

I recognise that it's always a little awkward when you're placed in the position where you have to make this kind of decision, and when you're the one making the decision it's never a clear cut as it seems to anyone not involved.
 
I was only joking, going off on one in a typical Dail Mail type rant.

I know plenty of people who smoke weed who do not steal.
 
OP you did the right choice, think about it if money went missing and bigger cheese would find out who would get the blame u recon?

She made her bed and now has to sleep in it.

As mentioned before grassing would have been escalating her 45 minute joint breaks.
You never know perhaps this lesson has made a better person of her :D
