As title. I'm on a train and there's a group of people who a pretty drunk and drinking more. So far it's a horrible experience. I would check on the national rail website, but I'm on my phone so it's more convenient to ask here. Cheers

Yes, perfectly fine to drink on the train.

Move seats if your unhappy. Are they being rude to you, or just annoyed their drinking?

You see drinking all the time on the trains, especially if you catch a carriage full of football supporters. I just move if I find them intimidating, but usually they're not a problem. What is more scary though is when you see people drinking at 8AM on a train.

Oh yeah, stupid me. :p

Was just wondering cost I know you're not allowed to do it on buses in London, and the tube VI think)

Aye, but that was a recent thing and there was a big hoo-hah about it around London. I'm sure a few people here attended the "last round on the underground" party that night, or at least were inconvenienced by the number of lines that were taken out of actiuon because of it.

Hasn't made a squat of difference, of course - going out for a night in London will still involve travelling booze being consumed on the bus or train in question.

Pretty sure you are allowed - Even if it isn't you're hardly going to go up to them and say "Could you stop drinking please?" :p

I just think in similar situations why should I have to move? THEY are the disruptive ones, I shouldn't be inconvenienced because of them.

I strongly sympathise with your point but informing someone of their failings can be met with an unwelcome response, and that's without throwing alcohol in to the equation. As they say, you can't reason with a drunk.

last time I went to Manchester on the train got chatting to some random bloke and he gave me a beer :D

was a fun ride, didn't get told off :p
