Umm.. well, if you were being skeptical, I just didn't understand the point of not believing that people in the thread are cynical. And I didn't know that, I just thought you got the two confused, like I've done before. :)

I wasn't cynical in the slightest until I joined a large company with too many managers. I'm about as cynical as anyone can get now. The joys of large companies and management bull**** :)

I'm not so much cynical as much as a realist i s'pose.

I mean, there is so much that goes wrong and doesn't happen as/when it should in life, you cant go around expecting it all to be perfect.

At the same time though I don't alwas expect things to go wrong.

People (my mother) have called me pessimistic in the past too, bah humbug to the lot of them, I'll be dead soon, no point changing now.

It often depends on the scenario actually. But I can be very cynical or I can just accept things - it's quite a duplicitous way to be :o

However I often stand by the reasoning of "the more I'm cynical the more I'm right" :p

Yep and it's not a good thing infact the older I get the more I realise how bad it is.

The problem is that I know too much about the world. Sometimes I wish I was in my own little world and didn't know so much.

It must be great to believe in things and be passionate but there is very little that can get me going because usually I can see through it.

It's a very free place to be because you see how things really are but life is much better if you wear rose tinted glasses.

i bum your sig, love it :D - cynical; i can be.

The older I get, the more cynical I have become, much to the annoyance of many people around me, including myself at times, it's very frustrating.

I watch the Grumpy Old Men programme and find myself agreeing 100%, with more and more and more things really, really annoying me nowadays. :(

Quite apart from the joking in my earlier post, I believe that you're probably a lot more naive than you think you are. I've found that it's often those who boast about knowing the most who actually know the least.

Very true, so I'm pleased I wasn't boasting.

Nope, I wouldnt class myself as cynical at all really.

In fact, I wish I were a little more cynical instead of believing everything I'm told. :)
