No. A few of the staff are fine, other than that I'd like to leave really. I have to travel too far to get to work to not get paid enough, to not have the support I need when I'm there to be able to get jobs done. I'm often left alone in my office during the busiest part of the year (now) because the manager doesn't want to bring on any more staff, neither part time or full time. I've almost been there three years, but I'm completely fed up of it. Fed up the people I speak to on the phone (general public mostly) as they annoy the Hell out of me as well, because they lack any sort of common sense. They also phone for advice, then dismiss the advice they are given like they are suddenly an expert because they've phoned in, then they don't do what they need to do anyway and end up phoning back three times in the next two days trying to blame us because they didn't want to listen.
I've been looking for a new job for a while, but I'd ideally like something a bit closer to home and with better pay which is going to be difficult
Dont get me wrong i like to help people, just some of these people are literally of the mind that they outright refuse to do anything. Complete sense of entitlement. Its my job to break that mindset but dear god i dont get paid enough.
I hate my job. I am looking for a new one but would love to get out of this one asap. I've basically been promoted and given responsibility that I'm really not ready for and everyone knows it so they're just waiting for me to mess up and when I do I get into trouble. I never wanted to be promoted, it happened because other people left.
I can't handle the pressure and it's really getting me down. I'm off today but all I can do is worry about going in tomorrow and if I done something wrong yesterday! I feel sick thinking about it.
I really enjoy my job most of the time, when I'm not working for a client it can get a little tedious, but opportunities to work with lots of different people. The guys that work for our company are generally great too, and the pay isn't bad either
Mine has its troughs and peaks. Sometimes I absolutely love it, when new work is coming into the team and I'm being challenged every day.
Other days, I hate it when it's boring and mundane.
i'm keeping my options open. Telephone interview on Friday for a job which is paying twice as much as I earn currently (plus benefits), but it's away from the company which I love to work for and potentially to one where the job is less secure. So it's a hard one to weigh up.
I have come to the conclusion that I am lacking direction in my job. Don't know where to go next. My line manager's job is pretty much the same as mine but he does less of the same work and gets paid more.
I'd like to maybe make a sideways move somewhere, god knows where.
Hell no - I hate my job! Part of the reason I'm off on the sick for a month atm. Stress and anxiety isn't something that should affect you in your daily job to the extent it affects your daily life and your days off.
Question people - Work to live or live to work?
I've rapidly come to my answer re the above question over the past couple of weeks. My health and my family come long before any ****** job!
Hate mine. Work in a department that is underfunded and constantly allowed to be screwed over because my boss can't say no to people. He also loves to try and do things as cheaply as possible even if this means he has to sink huge amounts of time into it outside the normal working day because he bought some garbage off eBay that doesn't do what it was intended to, but hey let's conveniently forget the original project requirements because that doesn't suit our agenda. Obviously he's the hero for saving so much money and I'm the big evil spanner in the works that just wants to throw money away on things. And it seems the whole organisation thinks like this.
I enjoy my job, enjoy my profession, and believe I'm incredibly fortunate to really believe in and love the part of the market that I specialise in.
That doesn't mean there are no staff issues or other frustrations to deal with, but I believe a career is long term and all the immediate issues can be managed.
