Just made this in the blender... omg mouthgasm.

1 young coconut, meat + water.
1 cup of ice cubes
1 banana (frozen, peel it BEFORE)
1 mango
1 scoop optimum nutrition natural strawberry whey

I'm addicted to these young coconuts they are flippin delicious.

Couldn't agree more, 'tis my favourite meals of the day. I usually have two a day, they help to make great snacks in between main meals.

I bought myself a smoothie maker (Basically a blender with a tap on it and a bigger price tag) a few years ago and then had 2-3 smoothies every day for a week or so, but it has not had any use for over a year.

One of my favourites though was a raspberry and banana smoothie, using ice cream instead of ice cubes.

When I used to live at home my mum would do smoothies quite often. Anything with mango in proved pretty popular!

Used make chocolate whey, banana, honey and peanut/almond butter smoothies - they were awesome :D

Banana
Milk
Oats
Honey
Olive oil (Should probably leave this out, but I am extreme skinny and need the extra)

Blend it up with the hand blender, win.
Never thought about using peanut butter, will be worth a try.

The cost bugs me. If I had more money I'd drink loads of them... but I spent £4 the other day on ingredients for a smoothie that lasted me about 2 minutes... Tasted damn good though...

peanut butter, banana and vanilla whey is what i normally use, very cheap imo.

it's when you start getting exotic it gets expensive or the more ingredients you use.

although we do also buy almond powder and put a spoon of that in to thicken it up, almond powder is expensive but if you only use a spoon here and there, it makes it cheap.

To be fair I agree. Not the biggest fan of peanut butter though always... But yeah my £4 one had blueberries and raspberries in... so not cheap xD

i have used frozen fruit in the past, but it tasted horrible, cranberries, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries the lot of them, but i think freezing kills them.

so it's best to just stick to the basics.

i know a lot of people who don't like peanut butter, but they love it in a shake or chocolate peanut butter flavour protein powder.

you can get cheap vanilla pods off ebay too.

so try banana, half a vanilla pod and some peanut butter and milk. very cheap smoothie there and should taste great

I use a mix of:

1 scoop Unflavoured whey protein
1 scoop 100% pure cocoa powder
1 scoop powdered peanut butter (PB2 - amazing!)
1 banana
1 cup 1% milk

Tastes amazing! Sometimes I'll add in a tablespoon of instant coffee powder in the morning instead of the peanut butter etc.

Maybe if you buy the crap de la crap frozen ones are poor. But you would need an amazing palette to taste a real difference amongst half the ingredients people Chuck them in with. Also it helps to soak them a little first.

Can I ask where you get vanilla pods from cheap as they are notorious for being expensive and would love to get some.

Anyone spec me a good blender? Ive never done it before but its something im looking into doing.

Something for around the £50 mark?

I love having Pear, Banana, Honey, natural yogurt and a little 1% milk, just so it isn't too thick to drink :p

Can't say i'm a massive fan of smoothies really, or milkshake. I don't particularly like the ice coldness. I'd rather just eat the fruit itself rather than liquify and drink.

the same seller does cheaper pods too, which aren't that good, but for the price you cannot complain, these are the best pods that seller does and are still relatively cheap

you dont need to spend a huge amount, i use a hand blender, philips from argos, does the job for £15-£25 and then replace it after a few years when the motor has started to lose power or dies.

oh yeah, i use yogurt and honey too, yogurt especially, honey is a great substitute for sugar, but with the banana's, etc it can get too much, so use sparingly.

Might indeed try the suggested one :)

But I wasn't using frozen fruit anyway, managed to grab quite a bit fresh from the local greengrocers and just threw it in :) I never really understood why you'd use frozen fruit over normal fruit... if you want it cold just throw an ice cube or two in...
