Argh 360's have blown my last nerve! Warning rant inside.

Am i the only person whos had more PS3's break then 360's ? :p and i dont even use the PS3 very often!
1 360 breakage vs 2 PS3's.

please don't say that, my 60gb PS3 only gets used a couple of days a month. i'm on my 4th 360.

p.s.
perhaps many 360's die with over use? never owned a console (way back to PONG) that gets used so often.

I have to say - the design may have some flaws but hats off to customer service

1st XBOX 360 - original style - sold on after 10 months - no failure

2nd XBOX 360 - at some point headset failed - was replaced no questions asked - brand new one sent in the post

2nd XBOX 360 - (this is a Falcon chipset btw) - failed after 13 months, whole turnaround time was 9 days door to door - and my actual console was repaired (same serial)

excellent service and excellent gaming experience IMO

I have a PS3 as well btw - but only use it for media streaming, find gaming on it very sterile - much more PC like than the 360 experience

Mark.

I agree the only thing I would like is to be able to transfer my DLC more frequently and easier. Once per year isn't enough and when you phone up the operators really dont care or even understand why your bothered.

Theres both of mine. Ventillated enough for you?

Seems to be to me lol :). Very nice setup there pal.

I was asking the op to see if it was where he stored it if that was contributing to the amount of rrods..

Hilly, its vertical, it needs air from the bottom vent afaik.

I think playing a lot contributes to the issues. If your using it several times a day it increases the heat cycles so the motherboard weakens.

360 is designed to work either way! Though, I think this next one will be horizontal rather than vertical. See how I get on :)

ill put it simpler as your ignoring.

desk. where you get it. :p

I just left the Xbox scene in favour of a new PS3. No regrets :)

If you do decide to go with the PS3, you'll immediately notice the reduction in noise! Yesterday evening I configured my media server. Within minutes, I had the PS3 streaming all media from my PC.

Not necessarily. My last 2 PS3's have been louder than my last 2 Xbox360's. Mine goes to full speed after about 1-2 minutes of being on, even when not doing anything.

Also, as someone said above, I've had a couple of PS3's break, I'm on my 3rd PS3. Also on 3rd Xbox360 though, however I would hazard I've put 1000's of hours into my Xbox360 and my PS3 must be less than 200 hours I'd guess and almost 3/4's would be media playback.
