Argh - computer broken

Had it 2 days, been running like a dream. It hibernated tonight, clicked the mouse to bring it out. Fans spool up, but no picture.

Hard reset and fans spool, but no picture. There's no beep, so not sure if it's posting or not. CPU fan is spinning, as is PSU and case fans. HDD is spinning. I've tried DVI, VGA and HDMI ports.

CPU or mobo fubared? Any suggestions of what to check to check?

Working!!!!!! What a man you are.

Any idea why it did that, and does it mean there's a problem with the mobo?

it could be , best to check manufactures site to see if a bios update is available to fix the issue

Cheers mate, will do. It's an Asus M4A785TD-V Evo btw. Thing is, at least I now know it's a mobo issue and nothing else. Save a lot of hassle if I have to RMA.

Only prob I have now is that I booted without resetting the date, and Windows 7 now says I'm using an unlicenced copy which it won't activate

Nothing was overclocked. Don't have any gfx cards. Cheers.

Try reset the BIOs to the default.

install the latest mainboard chipset driver and reboot PC to take effect.
