Argh! Quick Steam Problem

I've been downloading X3 for the last couple of evenings via Steam, and got to about 60% there (I know, terrible internet!). The notification said "60% Downloading"...it has now changed to "0% Updating".

Will this download the update and then resume the file which it had downloaded 60% of, or has that just been one big waste of time? :( It's still sat in the Steamapps folder...
 
As far as I remember from when I installed mine it did that, just leave it and it will (in my case slowly as our internet is rubbish) go from 1 to 100%. If not, click launch game and wait for it to work that way - I often have to do that with games when I lose my connection.
 
Awesome, cheers mate...might leave it on all day tomorrow while I'm at work...

So you're saying that it will continue with the past donwload once it's done the update?
 
It's fine. It just measures the rest of the download from 0, all your previously downloaded data is still there.
 
I first discovered this when I was on 512k. Oh the angry email I almost sent, bold letters and everything!
 
Leave it on overnight for as long as it needs, in the early hours of the morning you should find the speed will bump up as it ain't peak hours. It will update the current downloaded content then download the rest.
