Arghh Parcelforce

My postman is most awesome so I prefer royal mail than a courier..

He's carried a 250 size helicopter kit on his rounds one time he had to deliver to me :D and that's like shoebox size :D

Last time it happened to me I just rang them & pointed out that the time on the card is about 2 minutes before I made this call so where exactly was I ??? Whoever it was I spoke to must have rang the driver as he was back at my door 20 minutes later.

Haha, that's excellent.

"Sir, our drivers are capable of time travel, we apologise for any inconvenience as a result of this."

Parcel Farce tried to deliver a 15kg bag of dog food last Friday.

There were 2 massive splits in the packaging with food spilling out and it looked like a few kg of food were missing.

I refused to accept delivery and the guy said "it doesn't need signing for I could just leave it on the doorstep".

He didn't get to leave it on the doorstep!

Luckily, Pets At Home provided excellent Customer Service and had a replacement bag delivered on Saturday. Parcel Farce again, though.

Worst! Delivery Service! Ever!

Yep PF suck balls.

We got carded Monday, said they would attempt delivery the next day. We left a note on the door asking if they could leave the package in the greenhouse.
We got another card saying: "We're not allowed to leave packages". The card said it would need to be picked up at the local PF depot (20 miles away).
So I took a trip down there the next day, with my card. Only to be told my parcel had already been delivered. I got home and it was waiting on the front door step :/

Well I've got my parcel. I waited at the post office to collect it just be closing. The guy turned up and once he'd handed over the parcel to the PO I asked him about not ringing the door bell. Funny enough he claims he did and to back up his claim told which door bell was mine (the bottom one). He even suggested that I check it works. Just plain lol since it's been working all day long and it can even be heard from outside.

Best that I don't get anymore deliveries via parcelforce for a while.

Had one last week, just gave it to my neighbour without knocking my door.

That's right, he didn't knock my door but knocked the neighbours to give them the parcel. He then proceeded to write the slip to go through my door. Watched all this from the Kitchen window.

I then opened the door before he posted the slip and insisted he re-collected the parcel from the neighbour to give to me. Which he did, bitch.

I do sometimes wonder if my astonishment at the antics of my fellow delivery staff in Royal Mail and Parcel Farce comes from the fact I work in a small delivery office in a small, nice, quiet town. Perhaps they (and their managers) really are that bad elsewhere...

Ring the depot up and complain.

Customer Services is the way to go. The complaint then becomes all official like, and adversely effects the "precious" 100%.

I get TOLD that i never rang the bell by certain customers in a very cheeky manner sometimes when there has never been a time when i have not pressed it, if the bell went or not i can't tell most times unless it's near the door.

Needless to say from then on i NEVER do them a single favour again like signing for things or leaving with neighbours... small victories!. :)

I'm with RM btw.

Yodel are much worse. They were meant to deliver a parcel to my work but claimed that no one was home 3 times. Each delivery was 'made' around midday when there is a full reception of staff and two gatekeepers.

Phoned up to complain and even said we have CCTV proving there was no van coming even close to the site. They did nothing. In the end the rainforest sent a new item out with city link and it came next day.

Yeah, Yodel are the worst, i've seen plenty of Amazon parcels outside doors i'm delivering to that have been left out in the rain all night long, sometimes for the whole weekend.

Maybe if the driver does not deliver X amount of parcels...I dunno lets say 50.

He will gain overtime later for this maybe later in the week.

A little earner for himself

Had a special delivery today, these come via regular RM post. The postman managed to ring the bell no problem and had the package ready.

Why on earth was this so difficult for the Parcelfore guy?

I had a delivery from Amazon today, but it wasn't the usual DPD (who are great) or even RM (or aren't). It was a guy in plain clothes, in an unmarked white van. According to the email, they're 'Amazon Logistics', which is a new one on me.

I was in bed, but not sleeping. I was thinking about getting up, just in case the delivery came. The following is what my wife later told me:

The guy drove up and parked across our drive, blocking my wife in who was sat in the car with our three kids, waiting to leave. His mind was miles away, but eventually noticed she was waiting to drive off so moved his van. He was now parked outside our neighbour's house.

He got out with a small cardboard Amazon box in his hand. My wife wondered if he was coming to our house, but as he didn't approach her thought he wasn't. So she drove off.

Anyway, a moment after that, he rang our doorbell! I ran downstairs and there, leaning on our porch door (which opens outwards, so I couldn't open it) was £130 worth of Thule cycle carriers. There was no sign of a guy. But I did see the white van and it was empty. I thought it might have belonged to the workmen next door. But then, what sort of delivery driver would leave such a parcel leaning against a door and then run off?

I stood there for the best part of 2 minutes, in my boxers, looking out of the porch, wondering...I was about to go around the back and collect the parcel (remember, I can't open the door) and then he appeared from my next door neighbours drive. He was actually coming back for the parcel to take it to them.

He looked bemused and surprised. Probably as much as I did. I mean, he saw my wife on the drive, was within 6 feet and didn't think to say, 'Hang on. I have a delivery for you.' He looked a parcel short of a pallet, to be honest.

I hope Amazon don't use these guys again. I was getting used to the excellent service DPD were providing. Their tracking is fantastic.

I was over three years as a delivery driver (working for what used to be Securicor Omega Express - effectively now DHL) and it never ceases to amaze me how some drivers behave.

Back to RM - I once had a guy come to my door and card me without knocking. I was expecting a delivery, so pretty much sat behind the door waiting. I collared him and his response - 'I tried to deliver it yesterday, but you weren't in.'

???

1) I was in.
2) Why didn't you card me yesterday? At least then I could have rearranged things.

Apparently, that's how they did it. Put the failed delivery card through the letterbox the day after the failed delivery!?

Our regular RM guy is great, can't fault really. Now when it comes to parcels its a mixed bag. Yodel springs to mind as being pretty useless.

We've had a few parcels left outside in the past, luckily on days when it hasn't rained since a few would have been ruined. Now to me these parcels haven't been delivered so I would complain to the company i've purchased from and request another sent out. In this scenario would the delivery company have to cover the cost of said replacement item? I'm guessing not otherwise they'd be pretty quick to stop this from happening surely?
