I was just thinking of ordering the 1gb XT2900, but already you updated and its not on offer for £299 inc anymore ... you could have waited a couple more hours ;)

BTW is it a rebadged Diamond Viper ?
 
Hes actually saved you, the 1gb 2900 is only 2-3fps faster than the 512mb one, and you can get the much faster GTX for around the same price, you would be much better off with that, 1gb 2900 is a complete joke, its not worth it at all, get the GTX. :)

In Hi-Res+AA the 1gb is decently faster, I am presuming because of the increased clockspeeds more than the actual amount of memory, but still :)

Do long term, high spending customers get an extension on DOTW :p :D

If that was the case then the 512mb 2900 would be faster than the GTX in Hi-res+AA gaming, but it aint, its nowhere near, i cant see how 2 frames more than the 512mb make it faster than the GTX. :confused:

These 1gb cards are not those Diamond Vipers, i don't think you can get the Diamond Vipers over here, these 1gb cards are ******* ****. :D

No not faster than the GTX, faster than the 512mbXT I meant.
I know it wont be as fast as a GTX, but sometimes there are other very valid reasons than outright speed ;)
TBH they will be board partners whatever, so should be the exact same components on these as the DV.

Looking at GotFrag review, in HL2 1920x1200 the 1024mb card gives av 86 fps compared to the 512's 68.
COH 50 compared to 42 etc, so a reasonable increase.

OK for anyone who wants the 1GB at the lower price you have until the end of today, I've lowered it back to £250+VAT (give the website 15 mins to update). :)
 
Well now I have to play the citylink gamble .... they seem to fail 90% of friday deliveries for me :rolleyes:

he's obviously got the money and if this is what he wants to spend it on we can't stop him. though imo i would keep the 300quid and upgrade something else or keep money for new nvidia cards at the end of the year.
 
Just fed up with nvidia drivers, hoped they had changed but they haven't TBH. Did you look at the review I mentioned ? Can't link as I think it has adverts but they were showing around 15% increase over the 512mb version in 1920 x 1200 4aa/af, dont forget the memory is clocked higher than the 512.

yeah....the new NVIDIA cards are gonna kill people who don't know what they're doing. NVIDIA have publicly stated these babies are gonna churn out SLi'd 8800GTX power +some more.....EACH :eek:

I can only slavour at the prospect :D 30k in '06 falling to a single card....this is gonna be nutz

Well according to ati the r600 was gonna be the fastest card available in dx9 titles while simaltaniously holding the lead in dx10 titles, that didn't exactly happen.

Better off waiting till the product hits, hardware companies talk out of their asses as a way of making a living. :p
 
i dont think Citylink like me i opened the door half naked after a long nights drinking and the driver started shouting at me, i was sober enough to see his name and laugh in his face though :<
