Argo

Went to the pictures to see it. Awful movie. Total fiction from when they left the embassy.

How it won awards was beyond me.

Yeah I agree tbh, I thought it was good but I was definitely suprised to see it win awards because it wasn't fantastic. I doubt I'd ever watch it again if I'm honest.

I really enjoyed it, one of the better films I've seen recently! I loved The Town too.. Haven't really rated most of the films Afflecks acted in though!

I don't know why... but I really don't like Ben Affleck :p

But I'm sure I'll check this out once it's released since it's been getting some good attention :)

I think I ruined it a little by reading the real life accounts on BBC beforehand though.

The ambassador's house has a inner court yard so they were not stuck inside 24/7.
They never made the site scouting visit the day before they left.
They took a 5:30am flight so guards were few and far between.
They knew that the Iranians don't have the original copy for entry of the country but they also knew they always tend to lose those too.
The scene where they all got asked to step into a room for questioning never took place.

The truth is the whole thing went smoothly and the cover story almost served as a tool to keep the embassy employee's mind busy and something to concentrate on when they went through security.
