Argos Catalogues - Blast from the Past

Scrolling down the site, i saw the Star Wars figures (brother had the At-At!), Transformers, i had an original Optimus Prime, brother had Megatron that turned into a cool rifle. Also spotted the He-Man stuff - don't know, just brought back a few good memories!

Had Astro Wars too!!

Ah Argos, the amazon of our day. All it took was several months for my parents to get me the catalogue from my grandparents, then a week nagging the parents until they submitted, then a 2 week wait to go back to the grandparents and take a trip to another town.

Kids these days don’t know what patience is.

I recognise some of the stuff still. Ghetto blaster was much want. Shell suits too, fortunately my family had more sense than I.

Still prefer using a paper catalogue today.

Unlike on-line shopping sites, It only takes seconds to flick through a paper cat to find exactly what you want.

would sooner have a browse through an old Great Universal catalogue......the first 'porn' mag of my youth :p

For me it was Wehkamp, a Dutch catalogue company. I just had a look at their site and sadly none of the lingerie contains models, like the good ol' days :(

We never had Argos in Holland so for me it was Kijkshop, Blokker, Smyths (yes, same as here) and whatever catalogues I could pick up from my local hobby store (Tamiya, Traxxas, Ninco, and many, many more, I probably bankrupted that shop in printing costs).

I cleared the attic in the summer and there was an Ottoman up there full of crap but there was 1 relic in there, an Argos catalogue from 1993. I only looked at the cover and the only thing I remember on it was the SNES.

mom used to do the Kays and Littlewoods catalogues, i remember back in the day when they even sold shotguns in them :-D
was a day of huge excitement when the winter version came out w/ the xmas toys section in. almost as good as the lingerie section.
