Argos returs dispute with Chromecast

It might be worth checking with customer services - if there really is an issue with the manager at that specific store they might already be aware of previous incidents and prepared to be more flexible in this specific case.

TBH though technically you opened the box whatever form you try to wrap it up in.

You can take them to court for misselling the product as being under their money back guarantee and get a full refund.

Doesn't matter what the website, catalogue or receipt says as an Argos representative told you that it was covered.

Yes, that's totally worthwhile.

And the law is already quite clear, regardless what the rep in Argos says.

Once the seal is damaged they won't be able to restock it. Just sell it on ebay or something. Or try return it as faulty to another store and say you want a refund as you bought one from somewhere else.

Verbal contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on (as my old business law lecturer used to say). Unless he has proof he was told that then no court in the land will just accept he was.

I used to work in Argos back in 2002 and items excluded from the money-back guarantee had this stated clearly on the receipt under the item. I presume they still do this so unless his receipt says otherwise he has no case.

I'm trying to work out why it took you up until the moment you unsealed the box to realise it wasn't actually what you wanted.

Yeh take them to court over a £25 dongle that's fully functional, I can't imagine a better way to waste your money, your time and a bunch of other peoples time :D.

£25?

:/

I was thinking that they'd be about £100+. I don't really know why, I think I'm just out of date with things like Chromcast, as I like to use overkill computers for my media consumption.
