Don’t let the cat out of the bag, February 2, 2024.

The greater the spy, the bigger the lie. From the twisted mind of Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman franchise, Kick-Ass) comes Argylle, a razor-witted, reality-bending, globe-encircling spy thriller. Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World franchise) is Elly Conway, the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. But when the plots of Elly’s fictional books—which center on secret agent Argylle and his mission to unravel a global spy syndicate—begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet evenings at home become a thing of the past. Accompanied by Aiden (Oscar® winner Sam Rockwell), a cat-allergic spy, Elly (carrying Alfie in her backpack) races across the world to stay one step ahead of the killers as the line between Elly’s fictional world and her real one begins to blur.

The top-flight ensemble cast features Henry Cavill (The Witcher), John Cena (Fast X), Oscar® winner Ariana DeBose (West Side Story), Grammy winning pop superstar Dua Lipa (Barbie), Emmy winner and Oscar® nominee Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Emmy winner and comedy icon Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek), Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service), and the legendary Samuel L. Jackson. Alfie is played by Chip, the real-life cat of supermodel Claudia Vaughn (née Schiffer). Argylle is directed and produced by Matthew Vaughn, from a screenplay by Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman). The film is produced by Matthew Vaughn, Adam Bohling (Kingsman franchise), Jason Fuchs, and David Reid (Kingsman franchise).

It looks like a lot of fun. We've done Bourne realism to death and Bond is dour. The Kingsman films while not all consstently great have been fun. This might actually get me to the cinema.

I never knew he's married to Claudia Schiffer!

Anyway, looks cool. Sam Rockwell as the action man is a nice twist. Henry Cavill's hair looks stoopid. And John Cena just plays John Cena. Bryan Cranston or Samuel L Jackson will get the best lines.

37% critic rating lol. 99% audience score incoming. I hate that RT uses some random websites as 'critics', I do give more weight to some critics opinions than others.

Unrelated to comment above, video review are out:

P.S. I still fancy Dua Lipa.

Edit - sounds like the Dua Lipa / Cavill content is mainly what's in the trailer only. And the movie is an hour too long.

Didn't have high hopes. Apple are playing the Netflix game when it comes to their "Original" films. Pay over the odds for big name actors/directors/producers and shovel out the content fast to fill their platform (which has the smallest content library of all the streamers). Both Ghosted and The Family Plan are good recent examples. No better than stuff like Red Notice, The Gray Man, Leave the World Behind on Netflix. Both companies seem to be much better with shows than movies imo.

Massively disappointed at the Bait & Switch from having Cavill play such a large role in the trailer just to find out it's literally actually 5 min cameo instead.
I don't think that's a bait and switch, it's pretty clear from the trailer that Cavill and Cena are characters in her book.
