Ark and MMOS

Sadly there aren't any MMOs that are anything like ARK, at least not to my knowlege.
Wildstar & TERA are very good Free 2 Play MMOs to try, combat wise.
Another ARKlike game that's fun is Life is Feudal: Your Own but it requires literally 10x as much time to progress in and the combat is like Mount & Blade if they removed the hitboxes completely.

575 hours in ARK, pretty much zero of those AFK too lol. Pretty much done with it now though, fantastic game and I'll look at it again once it's polished and released 
PAGAN have our own server, it'll only likely be up until the end of October now though as most of us have left but there's a core still there playing on it.
I found PVP on it to be pretty poor but PVE can be a lot of fun, or PVP when it's not all about wiping out newbies, survival of the fittest etc is far more enjoyable!

Hey dude, seems a long time ago since we played Rift!
Right now is the perfect time to get into WoW. New expansion which looks very promising, meaning that in about 3 weeks time you will be on a level playing field with everyone else once again. Lots going on in the game right now as well to help you gear up and keep occupied.
It's sad to say, but really nothing else is a good as WoW, and I have played almost every MMO in existence.

i know! you vanished off the face of the earth! actually been debating getting on WOW!
we do have our own server on Ark which is nice as we dont get interrupted.
