Hi,

I've been playing Arma 2 on and off for years, recently reinstalled it but with everything maxed out I get that weird vaseline smeared screen effect, its not so bad that I cant see but I can't focus on anything and its giving me a headache after about 10 mins now :(

Ive messed about with the options but I cant find one that seems to make a difference to it, any tips?

The point is, Arma`s engine is so versatile why get so snobby about it.I`ve played thousands of hours, some in clans with acre and ace.I spent 6 month playing and running a chernarus life server.Played many an hour on dayz.
You cant knock other game modes until you`ve at least tried them.

omaeka wasteland is only a mission as bar from some scripting all the things in it are from arma 2,operation arrowhead, pmc, baf, acr dlc pack`s.And can be used in the editor.
Dayz is classed as a mod because although it uses a lot from arma 2 etc there are a lot of extra objects and coding classing it as a mod.
Hope that clears that one up.

It does indeed, I was kinda worried there as I'm interested in Wasteland at some point, and wasted money on ArmA 2 for DayZ (seriously, 5 minutes in the WarZ was much more fun*). So I'm glad it's actually an ArmA II anything really. :p

But ACRE and ACE aren't "proper" ArmA at all?

They recode the A.I into something that has actual intelligence, not just 'see and shoot' linear crap, they actually hide and ambush dynamically. It also readjusts most guns to be much more realistic, adds tons of medical supplies and abilities, as well as tons of new guns.

The other gives the game an amazing experience as far as player communication goes.

Why anybody would wanna play ArmA II over ArmA II how-it-should-of-been-anyway is beyond me. :p

I know exactly what they both are, I've been using both since they first surfaced, but it doesn't detract from the point that they aren't ArmA, they're mods of the game to make it more realistic...

No different from a mod that changes the AI from infantry to zombies...

oh dear god.

lol dont play these crappy mods, play proper arma

How rude.Considering its not a mod.Proper Arma is what exactly?

ACRE, ACE and some well made custom campaigns!

'proper' ArmA, not vanilla ArmA.

10/10 on the pedanticism though. :/
